Yeah it's wild how quick it intensified. We watched Irma for like two weeks before having to do anything. Michael was a thunderstorm last week! Gulf temp near me has been 89-91 for a while.

Brother 1 said he counted pine trees a few days ago (he has 3 acres). Went from 100 to 10, some on the house. Brother 2 north of Tyndall about 3 miles says all his trees are gone and got the garage/house. Talked to him earlier in the morning and he said two pecan trees were already down outside the perimeter of the house. He had two really big ones behind his house so could of been those. Cell phone coverage is really spotty and will get more so as batteries in towers lose power. Good thing is everyone is safe! Actually looking fairly good considering how the storm intensified and no reports of massive casualties. Crazy how it is still a Cat 3 as it still moves north.

Lost power as the storm died down here. Kept it during the worst part. Oh well, can’t really complain about that.

    Still 30mph winds

We're at about 20 mph winds and moderate rain here. Gusts probably hitting around 30 but not often.

Question for all of you that own a 3rd gen:

    how do you like?

Have you had any problems with it?

    Does anyone have a 6MT?

I'm looking at buying a newer truck but, I'm not finding what I want. So I'm considering a new model.

They're slow, but a 6 speed hides most of that. I test drove one, debated on getting one as I daily a manual every day.

I just wanted others to be comfortable driving no matter terrain when going off if I wanna sleep or something so I got an auto.

If you already daily a manul taco get another

    How much slower?

The only auto I've bought is the 4runner, and I don't drive it. It was for my son to travel to college and back.

It's not the engines fault it's the gearing. It's not actually slower, the 6 speed auto just shifts a lot as it's so high geared compared to manual

I drive my truck slow anyways, I'm a grandpa at 26.

Same. I’m not racing anyone. The auto does just fine for me.

But you have to admit, it would be nice to have it cruising maybe 200 rpms higher at 70 to shift a little less. Maybe then we'd only ever see 5th gear instead of 4th on the big hills on the interstate.

So basically with the 6MT the difference between the 3rd gen and 2nd gen won't be to bad.

I've never owned a 2nd gen driven one years ago, but no one complains about the manuals I'll say that. I dont complain about the auto, but lots do

After 1k miles on my 18, I rarely see 4th. Usually only goes into 5th around 65-75 when it needs to downshift. I’ve only got 3k miles on it now though.
