Also, if ya have time, Sedona is an hour south of Flagstaff and its probably my favorite place in the world. Totally worth checking out even if you don't wheel around town.

One of my favorites - Lamplighter Inn. Slightly West of Chicago, so much snow we could not make it to Kalamazoo. Indoor pool. With an ISLAND! And there is December cold and snow outside! Loved my Dad so much for getting us there that night. Both those trips were adventures.

That's a great description. I like specialty beers. The frog in the throat feeling is what happens when the taste makes your tongue retract and nearly impossible to swallow for a microsecond. For me, that happens with stouts and too much of them at once. I had a dark ale once, and it was fermented in whiskey barrels. It tasted more like a Irish car bomb but sweeter. I tried to like it but couldn't.

There's a ton of this. I found myself working at the Dam end of Lake Powell years ago. People came up of their rental House boats to eat at the little Holiday Inn. I'm sure it has changed since 1983, but I still want to go back, and rent one of those boats...…

Once I met the frog, I quit trying to pretend it was good. Like drinking some Moonshine, and trying to say "SMOOOERRRTHHHH" after.

Well, we tried a few times going back to see the family in Michigan, but no one really wanted to stop at those old "tourist" places, and we sacrificed for stays at "Hamptons" or equivalent, where you get a good breakfast to go in the AM, and cut a day off travel by not stopping. Interstates make it real hard to turn than down. Going up Thanksgiving, I know we will be putting the miles away to spend more time with family. Mom and Dad are gone, unfortunately, but my sister and BIL have a family to beat the band, and it is like Grand Central Station at that house. Happier there than in some hotel.

I'll drink just about anything. I've had good and bad versions of it all. Honestly though, I think your taste buds can react differently to the same things at various times. More than anything I think a person's mood plays an important role in the enjoyment process.

Nice! I'm getting that Norman Rockwell warm feeling imagining it. Thanks.
