I remember being in a grocery store with the clerk hand typing the price of each item you bought and how slow it was compared to today.

I spent much of my hard earned part time drug store money at Chess King in the mid 80's.

Didn't you have to enter the product # into a kiosk first? Then that info would pop up to the person that would retrieve the stuff for you?

I was class of '87. I wasn't a bad kid either, looking back. I generally stayed away from most of the shit that would get you in trouble back then....for the most part anyway

Yeah..it's been too long for me to really remember. I remember doing something on a keyboard and screen. But it's been at least 25 years since the last one closed around here. It's a Chucky Cheese these days.

I remember. Same here with the Eastlands. Everyone had eastlands at my school. If you didn’t have that green eastland tag, you were not cool.

My grandfather was heavily into radio/audio equipment/early TV tech from the 1920's until he died in '66.

He had one of the 1st TVs in his little town. At some point he had one of these monsters installed on their house...guessing mid to late 50's. It had an electric motor mounted on the mast for adjustments. Had a remote button hard wired into the living room so you could tweak the direction of the antenna.

What was left of it was finally removed about 25 years ago. You can still see the rusty marks on the old oil-fired furnace chimney where it was mounted to this day.

In my school it was LL Bean. If you had the Eastlands....you were a poor kid. Lots of rich kids in my high school....driving nice cars, the best clothes, etc. I was not one of the them.

I was proud to throw away that reduced lunch ticket and buy my lunch at full price with my own money when I got my 1st part time job.

My kids want for nothing. They have no idea. I guess that's a good thing

My 30th was last year. I didn't go. No real desire to.
