By and large, probably not but we try to keep things in check so our job sites don't get a reputation of making people uncomfortable. What's pretty neat is, there are a lot more women in the trades now so, when you walk by a job site it's not the highly concentrated masses of testosterone they used to be.

Morning all, did a cannonball run to Michigan to see the in-laws this week. Got back this morning around 5:30 was chaos driving back in the rain, thank god for rain-x though.
Side note got my fasterns from Eddy at SOS today for my sliders. Only been lost in my post office since August 29th. So hopefully be able to wrap that project up before snow flies

Double check your bolt numbers I had extra of the 1/2's but not enough of the 3/8s. Found that out before starting the driver side, put in the 1/2's so it was up and I could drive home, bought more bolts, had to basically loosen everything and redo since they settled to low to get the 3/8s through the holes.

Anyone got input on accessories when trading your vehicle in? When they appraised it I had the cap, clazzios, scs wheels etc but there was no discussion or mention of having to keep these on the truck when trading it. Im taking the cap and clazzios but not sure about the wheels. I’d like to swap them with a stock set or something but not sure.

If you've still got the factory equipment, pull the aftermarket and sell it. The dealer's appraisal won't be significantly higher with the accessories than without them, typically.

I think you meant to qoute me. But here’s the thing about it. I already have their appraisal number and the purchase agreement with the wheels and cap and stuff. So what I’m wondering is if I show up on Sunday with the check for the new truck if they’ll try to lower my appraisal number due to me taking off the cap and wheels and stuff

    Yep, did.

Just ask them; typically they don't add much value in for on the 'trade in' side, though. Once it comes time to sell, on the other hand...

It really depends on the dealer and the truck. If it's a high mileage truck they'll be taking in trade, they're going to send it to auction and aftermarket items won't add much value. If it's new and the aftermarket stuff gives it a certain look to where they think they can ask more money for it, they might hassle you for taking it all off. When I traded my Tacoma and the F150, the only thing both dealers seemed concerned with was keeping the cap on the truck. Otherwise, they told me as long as there weren't going to be any visible mounting holes or damage from me removing aftermarket stuff, they didn't care. I took my seat covers, all weather floor mats, sliders, bed mat, auxiliary lights and a few other odds and ends with me, basically anything I thought I could resell relatively quickly.

Ya they made no mention of the cap so that’s definitely coming off before Sunday. If they make a big deal about it well then I guess I’ll cross that bridge if it come. I think I’m going to just leave the wheels

I can't imagine they'll notice or care about the wheels. When mine was appraised, I had my winter set on. I asked them if they cared if I swapped them for other wheels and my A/Ts and he said "as long as the tires you trade it with have enough tread to pass a state inspection, do whatever you want."

The cap would be the only thing I would question.

I'd strip everything off the truck that you can, honestly. I doubt they'll catch it, or care. As Noel said, their appraisal won't really be impacted by it, they mostly just use historical data, they're not really appraising your actual vehicle.

I do think the guy took pictures of my truck before he pulled it in for appraisal though so not sure if they’ll even care to look at those and compare

They appraise it as it sits when they see it. Little things they might not notice you taking off, but something like the cap I'm sure they factored in

My truck was appraised two months before they got it, because I ordered my F-150.

My dealer told me "We'll give you this amount when your new truck shows up as long as you don't drive that one in with a smashed tail light or something."

There was no issue when the day came, and I pulled most of my interior stuff, the bed mat, swapped the wheels and tires, etc.

If they took pictures they're probably using an appraisal software like vauto or firstlook that looks at current market data, not historical or book values
