Anybody use Red Army Standard 223? (That shitty cheap commie ammo.) I was at the range earlier and my AR was absolutely not having it.

Steel case or brass (if they even make it in brass)? I know the steel case runs dirty and its common for ARs to not like steel case.

I ran steel case 7.62 in my AK and it runs fine... Little dirty though

That's weird. I've never seen a gun come that way before, lol. Usually they just have the orange chamber indicator in them.

Conglockulations on the new shooter, though!

The dealer I deal with does all the gun shows and I guess this was one of the guns from his gun show stock as they require all guns to have ties through barrels or hammers

Anybody else have issues picking up a front sight post on a pistol with night sights when it’s not very bright but not dark enough for the tritium to be bright?

I havent really noticed it. but only have my bedside gun for night sights ( FNP-45 tactical). Even in a "dusk" type lighting right now the sights were bright enough to see. VS the non night sight gun (xds 45) which i could only really make out the dots if i tried too.

I noticed it the other night when practicing in my home, haven’t noticed it at the range but haven’t been shooting at night as much as I should be.

I’ll have to look into those, I like the front fiber optic on my XDs.

Went out yesterday to a popular shooting area in the desert in AZ, sycamore creek. After I was done shooting I filled up my whole truck bed full of trash that people leave behind from shooting, and that was just at the shooting site I was at. People suck.

Theres a group that goes out there 2x a year and takes out literal tones of trash. Only takes about 2 months for it to be wrecked again by shitty people.

I was out there yesterday too! Hoping to see the creek running and exploring some. Perfect day for it. I also left w/ more trash than i came in w/.

Ill usually check the sights on the FNP every so often. Only time they don't really do much is when its to dark to really even see the target. In which case the light comes on and makes the sights useless pretty much

Sadly that's all to common everywhere. Local group here does a clean up twice, if not more, a year. Do a group shoot and then a clean up. Thankfully the DNR will usually provide a big dumpster. its amazing how many people even think just the steel/brass cases and shotgun hulls don't need to be picked up

The sad part is it's not just shooters, campers, off readers, fishermen, etc....

Somehow they believe they don't need to clean up after themselves.

Seen it across all age groups, so honestly, it's not some that new.
Leaving trash has caused a few shooting area to be shut down.

I used to shoot outdoors after work all year round and with it getting dark around the time I started in winter, tough to see well.

Short answer is Trijicon HDs. I like to run the yellow front post and with the blackout rear sights, your eyes naturally gravitate right to it. These have been the fastest sights I own (several factory Sig nights, HK Truglo, and Meprolight in the collection)

    Thanks for the info guys.

Another question, has anyone taught themselves to shoot with their non dominant hand by starting out with dry fire?
I need to teach myself non dominant hand shooting for the job I applied for (and it couldn’t hurt to know, if nothing else to show up a buddy at the range) and don’t really want to spend unnecessary money at the range when, in my opinion, I could in theory start training my eyes/muscles to shoot non dominant hand with dry fire.

For our leo qual we only shoot 3 shots one handed with our non dominant hand at 7yrds. Dry firing with your non dominant hand will be the same as your dominant. Always will be good practice.
