I had a moment after the bumpers, pulley, Switchpro, etc where I started adding it up in my head...there is no way to explain this to a normal person. I should have bought a Hellcat.

Very true. When I bought mine last Christmas I paid more than the Maserati on the showroom. That's before I started my mod habbit.

BTW, what are people doing with their take-off parts. I almost threw away suspension parts last weekend. I’m never going back.

Oooh that can be a bad move! You will only get mad at yourself (like an addict) then keep on buying the drug (parts) to satisfy your addiction.

@loginfailed and I were chatting about this a few weeks ago. A lot of us have a crazy amount of money and time invested which monetarily is not feasable and difficult for many to justify.
The other side of that though is all the learning that has been done and the camaraderie that has been developed between us. I remember @Torspd talking about this in his build page I think.
I have learned an immense amount, made friends, taught others, and have been fortunate enough to make a few bucks while helping others and developing a new skillset!
Its hard to put a dollar figure on that.

For some reason our little community all seem to mesh very well and get along unlike many forums I've seen. Of course we have our friendly jabs of talking smack etc. but from what I have seen it's all light natured and fun with no harm meant.

    I love this place!

Geez. Mine SHOULD be all set to go but I never got far on it so idk.

That much is becoming very apparent.

Its sure is starting to seem that way isn't it.

I couldn't pay anyone enough money to come take the remaining parts I have kept off of my hands. It's sad really.

Is the recommended TB for the 76mm conversion from the 3URFBE 5.7?

As I understand anything 5.7 except off a sequoia. Check urd website for #s of compatible units. Then go shopping. I paid 180 for mine and it came broken. Was able to fix it luckily.

Car-part.com. Search for Tundra throttle body or throttle valve as it's sometimes called.

I found several on eBay. I just wanted to make sure I didn't buy the wrong one since most say they are compatible with the Sequoia. I just double checked URD's site and it specifically says NOT to get one from a 2006 Sequoia. That said, I still haven't seen anybody on here able to explain the benefit of the 76mm over the 70mm.

    Mine is a 22030-0S010.

It boils down to csa or cross sectional area.
Restriction in a tube is caused by multiple factors with the biggest being diameter and length.
A throttle body has a butterfly which also effectively reduces its cross sectional area so a 65mm stock throttle body may have an effective opening of less than 60mm as (seen) by airflow.
The biggest difference will be noticed at high airflow demands where the stock and possibly the 70mm start restricting airflow.

Take a soda straw and try to suck in as hard as you can. Then cut it in half and repeat. Due to the shorter length there is less resistance. Of course there would also be less resistance if you used a larger straw.

There is a reason Toyota went from a 65mm tb on the first gen 1gr to the second gen 1gr.
Also why do you think the 5.7 Tundra has a 75mm TV instead of a 65 or 70mm? The engines airflow requirement.

Yes we have a restriction in our supercharger cast inlet but I may alleviate that problem as well one day.

Maybe I will set that priority higher when @Torspd gets boost! :boink:

That inlet restriction is exactly what I was thinking about. We could put a giant tube and air filter before the TB but if it necks down to close to 70 at the inlet, then it seems counterintuitive.

Yes you did. I'm at work. Not supposed to be talking to you people.

I don't see myself changing out my ceramic-coated (yes, I had it coated, more money...) Y-Pipe just yet. I need to get my valve body out of Australia since I already paid for it, *&%$#!!!
