Question for all you guys...what winch would you guys recommend?

Ended up getting a refund on mine. SSO customer service was good, but the 20% restock fee on a yet-to-be-built product is a little crazy.

 

Just got mine yesterday!! Now off to get linex.

 

Mine should be arriving tomorrow! I’m still not sure which route to go with the winch. Any suggestions? I’m stuck between Smitty x20 10k or a warn vr10...H E L P

 

I received mine yesterday and the light bar (shipped separately). I almost didn’t get it. The fed ex driver was too lazy and claimed no one was home. After calling in and telling them he never showed up, they gave me his number and I was able to meet up with him and grab it.

That’s when I realized why he didn’t bother, it’s a pretty big box and for sure he didn’t want to carry it, but hey just do your job man...anyways I loaded it in my bed and took it home.

I’m a little hesitant to do the install myself so I might take it shomewhere.

Also I’m leaning towards a smittybilt x20 synthetic winch, if anyone has any feedback on that I would greatly appreciate it. I don’t plan on using it often but still want something decent.

 

I have the Smittybilt X2O on my Tacoma and 4Runner. Never had any issues with them hit up @eccracer104 he works for AutoAnything and can hook you up.

Got mine today! Thank you @SouthernStyleOffRoad you guys nailed my custom request.

 

Went with Linex, Smittybilt 9500 with synthetic line, some factor 55 goodies and Baja Amber

How did it go?

 

Pretty easy. Took my time and followed that link I posted. Kinda aggravating to get the side braces on, shed some blood doing that. Had to bend the light bar brackets a bit (expected), nd had to drill out the holes for my fairlead to a true 1/2” and had to drill out the drivers side radiator protector bar thing hole, it was mis-aligned by 1/8” or so. Definitely do the modified cut in the link. No need for a jack if you have a buddy, we picked it up with winch and light bar and all and easily placed it on the studs.

The fairlead is a closer color match in person.

 

Awesome I got the exact same bumper with same light bar. I’m installing a x20 Smittybilt Winch with a factory 55 FlatLink on Friday. How did you match te fairlead.

 

I had this winch on my last truck, I swapped it over to synthetic rope to save weight on the Taco and hence needed a new fairlead. Just googled tan fairlead and came up with this. I bought it so long ago I don’t remember the specifics of it.

 

Got mine installed today!
