Every since gambit came out I just use the sleeper in my heavy. 4 rounds when you pick up heavy and if you're lucky you might find some laying on the ground. I can usually get 3-4 kills just with the sleeper alone not counting switching back and forth between my primary and secondary. I run Nightstalker 90% of the time to shut down supers so I know that pisses others off (which is the point lol). A well placed tether if I've got a nova warp WL chasing me is the most satisfying kill to get to me as that super is the most OP in the game right now because it lasts so goddamn long.

Thinking about PvP a little more...

Don't feel like you're alone in thinking you suck right now or the game is unfair. When I first started playing PvP in D1 I got my ass handed to me for a long time until I started watching how other people play that were much better than I was. Map knowledge is a HUGE part of being successful in PvP. Knowing where the other team spawns and what direction they may go will help you out. Sticking with your team is also key. That can be harder if you are playing solo but as long as you stick with one or two of the other people on your team it will make your chance of success much better than trying to run solo. Since D2 PvP is very much different than D1 PvP you have to really anticipate getting team shot so try not to place yourself in those situations. Sometimes that is impossible if the spawns flip and you get shot as soon as you spawn. But that's just part of the game and you just have to go with it.

I finally got around to finishing up the Ace of Spades quest solo the other day and I went in with a hand cannon and used nothing else (and I mean nothing else). No primary or heavy. Just running around with the hand cannon to get my 25 headshots which can be a pain if someone else on your team is shooting the same target. The only matches I went negative in was when I dropped into 2 matches that were already in progress and supers were up and being used. Unfortunately... there is nothing you can do when that happens so you just have to bite the bullet (pun intended lol) and finish the match and see if you can get any kills.

Here is the match summary of that day using strictly a hand cannon and nothing else. One match wasn't even played and it counted as a win but the other team dropped out so we didn't even get a chance to get a kill anyone. The ones where I went negative were matches that I dropped in mid match. If I can run around using nothing but a hand cannon and stay positive you will be able to start going positive once you start to figure out the flow of the matches and learning to anticipate what the other team is doing.

PvP is hard in D2 but that's what appeals to me. I'm not a PvP god by any means but I can hold my own. Very seldom do I go negative. But I still have bad games because as good as you think you are... there is always someone out there better than you are. I used to get tilted pretty often and when that happens you might as well put the controller down and take a break. The more tilted you get the worse you will play. I don't get tilted anymore since most of the times when I have a bad game it's because of poor decision making on my part. Not that I'm getting outplayed (even though that happens from time to time).

Use this time in PvP as a learning experience and you will get better I promise. The more you play the more it will make sense to you and you will be able to pull off plays that your opponent didn't see coming. Good luck in there :)

I still suck at PvP, but not nearly as bad as when I started. I rarely had a positive KD, and I still go below zero but usually not less than 0.8. I loved the Ace of Spades, so I went after that as soon as I could. I was getting 3 or 4 headshot kills per round with the hand cannon, so it took me several rounds. BUT, I used to be lucky to even get a kill or 2, mostly with a lucky grenade. I thought that quest would take me forever, but I got it done without any help a lot faster than I thought.

I've found that doing the PvE story things and other challenges on my own without any help improves my game. Lots of times friends want to jump in and help you get through it fast, but what I need is some patience and using my head -- I tend to Leroy Jenkins when I have good support. Getting through the stories and adventures fast is not what I want to do anyway.

That's the difference between you and I ;)

I want to burn through the story (which I don't care about honestly) and get to the endgame where all the good shit is. I'm sitting at 600 now depending on what weapons I equip. Now I'm searching for a few different pieces of armor that I can switch between during PvP depending on what class I run.

The thing is... all the stuff you do in game leveling up really makes no difference to me. It's all the secrets at the end of the game that I'm interested in that you don't have access to if you haven't finished certain parts of the game. I want to finish the raid and get everything out of it etc... I'm working on the Redrix's Broadsword and the Luna's howl right now so that takes up a good part of my time. Add to that, I've barely even touched my WL and I haven't even logged into the Titan at all. I've been focusing on the Hunter and getting everything I can get on it.

The loot is what drives me in the game and I want the things that 90% of the other people in the game don't have. Sure... I have plenty of time to play but it wouldn't change my playstyle if I didn't.

I'm still happy with this in PvP. I'm leading the clan with the exception of one column which got surpassed the other day for longest kill streak.

I still hold the best single game kills (and no... that's not Mayhem. I hate Mayhem)

Longest single life. Never died during this match

And I doubt that anyone will catch up with me in PvE activities

Just checked my PvE kills and although it isn't completely accurate as it's only taking into account kills on my hunter and not my WL. It's still a lot of kills

Depends on what mode I suppose? I would like to know how many Nightstalkers have as many kills on that class as I do? Unfortunately I can't find a site that breaks it down like that. So I have to go by total kills over all characters which I'm sitting at 3000 in the world right now. Nightstalker alone I would imagine would be much lower.

Nightstalker has 220,592 kills in that class alone.

Dude, that is like the first (and only, so far) exotic weapon that dropped for me. It sucks balls for general use, but I know you just like to have everything.

It's good in PvP but other than that I dunno? I've got a 600 Bad Omens out of Gambit that has tracking and Cluster bombs that is a god roll. But this is only the second Forsaken exotic that I've gotten so far. The other being the Trinity Ghoul which I got on the second day. The rest have been year 1 exotics. I want the chest piece for the hunter and the arms but no luck so far. I'm just happy to get this one. Only took me 4 weeks to get another Forsaken exotic lol.

Started my grind for the Broadsword. Actually I started it a while back I suppose without even knowing I was doing it.

    I'm at step 5.

    • In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Arc final blows
    • In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Solar final blows
    • In the Crucible, defeat 50 opponents with Void final blows
    Step 6

    • Complete 25 Crucible matches in Quickplay (Rotators count)
    • Complete 25 Crucible matches in Competitive
    • Complete 25 Crucible matches in Rumble
This shouldn't be very hard as it matches up with the Chaperone only easier

    Step 7

    • Complete 20 Crucible Bounties
    Easy

    Step 8

    • Reset your Valor rank 5 times within a single season
Shouldn't be that hard since I've already reset it twice this season. This will be the most grindy part of the quest IMO but as you complete the other steps you will be working your way to reset so hopefully it won't be too bad.

    Step 9

    • Visit Lord Shaxx and claim your reward.
That's it. So for the next few weeks or so I'll be grinding this out. I went in solo queue last night and played probably 15 matches which is probably not the way to go about doing it if you want to keep your K/D respectable. I didn't lose any K/D but I didn't gain much either. So hopefully I can get some friends to follow me on this journey.

Will do. Also going after Luna's Howl but I'll get around to that afterwards. I'll get the Luna's Howl but honestly I was destroying with The Trust from Gambit so Luna's Howl didn't seem like much of an issue.

So this thing is stupid in crucible lol. Fire and forget. Not nearly as good as a year 1 Truth in D1 but 2 tracking rockets at once is stupid. If you’re fast enough you can fire and turn and catch 2 that aren’t necessarily standing near each other kind of like the WC.

Got the chaperone quest done by accident while farming for for the claymore. Now it’s hard to not use it but I still have to get pulse rifle kills. But Jesus the chaperone will fucking map people lol. It’s damn near unfair but fuckit... if you want it do the quest.

I figured it had a purpose, but it's not PvE. Seems perfect for crucible, but I like my Ace of Spades! Time to find another primary...
