    My grandma always kept a small tin can of lard on her stove that she cooked with. She also canned fruits and vegetables and made her own ketchup. The lard finally got her I guess, at the age of 96.

    I worked in grocery store too as a stock boy. we had those and the rotating head with ink stampers. carried them like pistols and took pride how fast you could stamp a flat of canned foods!

    96 is an awesome age! I want to learn to can my own fruits and veggies....hell I like learning the old ways of doing stuff. Much better than in the store crap....unless you can find someone local who does it

    If memory serves, two Americans, and two Aussies, or were they Britts. Love that show. 12 O’clock High had actual war footage in the mix. My dad would verify what was real and what was Hollywood. It was all black and white then, unless your parents were rich.

    And you actually fixed a tv back then. Take all the tubes in to the hardware store and put each one in the tester till you found the bad one.
