I had TC shock bucket gussets installed a few weeks ago. What were you looking to find out about them?

If you were looking for how to install threads, I doubt you'll find any. To be honest if you are an experienced welder you shouldn't need guidance from an how to thread. It's pretty straight forward, the instructions included with the gussets is all you need. Most important part is to install the sleeves, washers & bolts for the UCAs minus the outer washers & bushings when welding the gussets in place. The rest is mainly just weld prep. BTW in case you weren't aware, you need to have aftermarket UCAs, they won't work with stock UCAs.

Same for the spindle gussets, tear down, & prep for welding. I didn't get the spindle gussets installed cause the fab guy doesn't do spindle teardowns on 1st gens. I'll get them done when I need to do wheel bearings.

While you're at it I recommend welding on top plates for the shock buckets. That's where it cracked for me.

Yup, he's right. Clearly shown in the pic.

@Sperrunner, when you have long bolts that are stubborn, loosen the nut, not the bolt. I didn't see that pic earlier. I bet you'll get it off loosening the nut.

I'm decently experienced at welding, my only thing is going to be welding them with FLUX core wire not shielded just more of a mess. I have the 2.7 not the 3.4 so I will have to do some modification to make them fit. Since the bucket design from the 4c is different than the v6. But that's pretty straight forward just require drilling a lower exit hole on the aft brackets and then just bend them ever so slightly. I have no way of making any top plates for the bucket so if you know where I can buy some that would be awesome.

I will be converting it to 6x5.5 when I put trailer brakes so I can run matching 3rd Gen Wheels. It has the provisions on the axle for e-brakes already.

I took it home no problem, honestly didn’t feel like I had anything behind me. I was traveling an average of 65 MPH. It fits perfectly behind the profile of my truck so it doesn’t butt out much.

I've never seen a 4cyl 4x4/4x2 chassis up close. I had no idea they were different. Just looked at the TC instruction sheet, it does say not for 4cyl.

I looked I don't think anyone sells premade top plates for this purpose. Surprises me that no one does.

There is no way to get to that with a breaker. Its at such a angle that a socket wont go on right. And all the wrenchs i have dont give me enough leverage to break it free

$1,300. Cheapest I’ve found in California and the PNW. New runs about $2.3k.

It was owned by a travel company who “took around rich Europeans camping at Yosemite.”

Since it was owned by a company, it was very well maintained. Wheel bearings were repacked every month.

Nice! That's a tiny trailer, you shouldn't need e-brakes for it.
