    Safer than the game we used to play. My best friend and I would stand opposite one another with our feet shoulder-width apart. One of us would take a pocket knife and throw it to stick in the ground as near the opponents foot as possible. This would go back and forth until one of us chickened out, or rarely ended up with a knife in our shoe. I had one go between my toes. My neighbor had three older brothers, they apparently passed this down.

    We used to shoot each other with BB guns and use metal garbage can lids as shields. I remember someone getting a BB lodged in their ankle one day. His dad was trying to use an old speaker magnet to get it out.

    Incredible we didn't get hurt more often. o_O

    The neighbor behind me sent a kid to the ER. Pumped it all the way and shot him in the stomach. He almost didn’t make it and was in the ICU for weeks. The neighborhood cracked down on the kids after that.
