Weather Tech vs Husky winter matts

Hi,
Winter is getting closer here in Canada ,so,
I am about to purchase new winter matts for my 2018 Tacoma.
Last time on my previous Tacoma,i had Weather Tech ones,they were ok,but i started reading and looking at Husky s one,and they seems very nice,maybe even better then Weather Tech!?
Any recommendations,or comments?
They are about the same price.

I've got the husky liner weatherbeaters. Had the weathertechs before and like these a lot better.

 

I had Weather Tech in a Jeep a while back. When I got the Tacoma, I went with Husky. The reason is that I found the Weather Tech to be very slippery when wet, I made getting in with snow or rain a little dicey, banged my shin a few times. The Husky's are a little more "tacky" when wet. I am glad that I made the switch.

I like Weather Tech but I feel they are too stiff and over priced, I tried Husky and thought they where comparable to Weather tech slightly cheaper and slightly more bendable which I liked.. The last set I bought was for My wife's car we got off Amazon. The brand was MAXFLOORMAT. Also custom fit and cheaper price than the other 2 . I think the quality is not far off.. May be worth it to check out.

 

I had weather tech and prefer the Toyota all weather ones actually. The weather tech are stiff. They also have a texture to them that makes them brown in a very short period, and it's impossible to clean. They do provide protection, but after only a few days with them, they look years old. The Toyota ones are rubber, not slippery and still look clean after having them for 8 months.

I had a set of Husky Liners in a Jeep XJ for a decade and they were still performing well when I finally sold it. When we got the wife an Expedition last year I bought her Weathertecs for the front and rear. They work well but when I bought liners for my Tacoma recently I bought the Husky Classic liners again. It's not that the Weathertecs don't work, I just like what I feel is the deeper coverage of the Huskys and the diamond plate texture. I bought them from Auto Anything with a quotw from their rep here and got what I felt was a great deal!

 

I've had lots of different mats in the past few vehicles, from expensive all weather carpet, to WeatherTech's, to thick factory rubber. Pro's and Con's to each, however I just pulled the OEM Toyota mats for a set of 3D Maxpider Kagu mats front and rear, and they are the best I've had yet. Liners like the Husky and WT, but resemble a carpet like feel. Just recently dumped the better portion of a 16oz drink in them and was all to easy to clean. Not slick at all. And they actually stay in place as the backing is like a big velcro strip. It's the one mat that my wife's feet haven't moved.

I have both weathertech and husky for my Tacoma. The husky was just better fitted and covered more area. Also less slippage compared to the weathertech when it was wet. Ended up with husky again for my 4Runner.

 

What style of Husky Liners are any of you using, x-act contour or weatherbeater? can't decide.

 

Husky is better than Weathertech IMO b/c the rubber that husky uses is slightly more soft and a little more flexible. Also, the WT didn’t (still don’t?) have little gripping nubs on the other side to help them grip and stay in place. So they kinda slide around in side the car and they are slick when wet. I like husky x-act contour because of the deeper grooves.

But..the best mats IMO are the Toyota “all weather” mats. Started out thinking I wanted Weathertech due to a referral. Then like Husky for the reasons above. Then saw Toyota’s. They have the good rubber, gripping numb to stay in place, deep channel grooves for water and a perfect fit (although I think all fit pretty well). And, the price was pretty much the same for double cab...about $160, I think? The Huskys double cab were slightly less, but close I think.

 

I'm using the Classics.

 

I have a set of the Toyota mats in the closet. They were nice and better than carpeted ones but don't offer near the coverage as my Husky's.

 

I think this ^^^^ is exactly the ones I have. Got them a year ago, so maybe there are subtle changes. But they have held up great. I don’t have to deal with much ice/snow/road salt in FW, Texas. So maybe the Weathertechs or Husky are better? Not sure. But the dealership ones work great for me. (Just wait for a sale)

 

I just bought Weathertech to replace my Husky liners. The Husky’s always crept forward.

 

I also have the toyota all weather mats that came w/the truck, great liners, not alot of coverage. I had the weathertechs in my '09 for 10 years but they were slippery when wet/snowy, That is why I was thinking of going w/one of the Huskys.

Not a lot of snow and ice in central SC but when I had them before they handled them well. My driveway is unpaved and they do a great job keeping the sand out of the carpet.
