Dropped and lubed up both driveshafts last night. My slip joint boot had slid down and exposed the splines, and I had been hearing a grindy sound on deceleration since I lifted the truck. I guess that is pretty common with the reg cabs and their one piece drive shafts.

The sound is reduced, but is still there. I think the next step is maybe a driveshaft spacer that will allow for more of the splines to be engaged instead of being stretched out after the lift.

Some folks had luck flipping the driveshaft around, but I don't know how I feel about having the slip joint and boot so exposed.

Greasing was a good thing to do anyway with all this water everywhere. Never hurts!

Greasing joints is a good way to help find/narrow down noises and preventative maintenance never hurts!

I can't imagine the cleanup down in the panhandle. Just bulldosers pushing debris everywhere. What a mess to have to try to untangle.

Blackriver Co-op was on top of it yesterday. The twig that fell on my transformer blew the fuse for my whole "neighborhood"(4 or 5 houses). I am the terminal service for my line, and the twig blew the fuse all the way at the road. We were back up and running in two hours or so. The tech said there were only 1000 outages for their co-op.

I'm on a co-op in Kershaw county. From my understanding most of the main lines are buried so it's very very rare for me to lose power.

Just watched a third gen back into a gas station pole at like 5 mph. Happened before I could honk to warn him.

He drove away like nothing happened, didn’t even get out. Hope it wasn’t any of you! If it was, probably better to not claim it haha
