Headlight advice needed

I was looking on ebay for some blacked out headlights and came across this. It comes with HIDs. Looks like a sweet deal if i could do a local pick up on it. What do you guys think? Suggestions needed. Thanks!

Looks like you will only have low beams if you get them.

 

I think you should do the BHLM yourself and spend your money on a good quality set of HID's and retain your Hi/Low beams.

 

I'm a bit scared to do the BHLM myself. Not too familiar with doing that. And if something happens, I wont be able to drive my truck until i get new headlights.

 

True. If you read up on it there have been a lot of trial and error jobs so you should be able to do it w/o any problems. PM some of the guys that have done it.

 

I guess I'm a bit out of the loop. What's the difference between HID's and regular head lights? It looks like HID's aren't really a bulb at all.

I buy a pair of Bi-Xenon HID ...it have high, low beam. it cost me about 230.00.. I have a 6000K, and I get a set of 3000K Yellow for the fog light... it is bright like the sun.

 

Anyone else have any suggestions?

 

Talk to beastbluetaco at toyotanation see what he can do for you he will most like send you his that he has done and you send him yours when you recieve his.

 

Id suggest this too. Or if your nervous to do this (as am i) maybe you can go down to the dealer buy an extra set of lights and then try the BHLM on the ones of your truck and if something goes wrong then swap them with the new ones you bought? Might be expensive but its a thought

If you decide to do the Black HL mod, it's not that bad. Once you remove the housings from the truck, just follow the instructions posted online, removing all the rubber grommets and plugs.

If you take your time and make sure to pull them apart slowly, you will be fine. The most important step is when you put them back together. Make sure you get them warm and the sealant is soft. If you need to add sealant after you put them together, make sure you go all the way around the housings with clear sealant.

For HIDs, I highly suggest the RETRO SOLUTIONS kit. I used the bi-xenon 55W kit which gives high/low beams and they turn off/on just like factory headlights, nothing to modify other than a straight forward installation.

Great upgrade, OEM look, easy installation, plug and play.
