@Wju where do you plan to go for your pedicure? I can recommend a few places. Here's my answers to your questions:

1. No. You don't have to talk and if you bring a book or something with you most of them will see that's what you plan to do and keep the small talk to a minimum.

2. Reasonable tip is usually $5-10.

3. Don't apologize, they've seen worse and so have the people around you. I've seen a woman with feet so gnarly that when they did the little feed shredder thing to get off dead skin they had to put a towel down to catch it all.

There is a place off 646 called Bay Colony Nail Spa that I generally go to and they do a great job. There's also a place in Texas City called My Nails and Spa next to Kroger that does a great job as well. Best thing I can tell you is communication is key. Let them know if you have ingrowns or tend to get them as they can help you take care of them. You may leave a little sore if you have some bad ones but that generally clears up after an hour or so and if you continue to go every few weeks they will help keep your feet from hurting.

Upkeep is a great way to not be in pain. Callouses are the body’s way of making you not get blisters, getting rid of them entirely can be a problem. I like to knock them down but not take them off. It keeps my boots from killing me.

 

I agree! Plus pedicures feel really good. Especially the paraffin wax and hot stone massage parts...

 

Thought that was closing time at the bar back in the day .
