Ok guys, what's a solid, low-maintenance upgrade for my factory s/c?
I love watching all your killer builds but want to keep mine simple.
Just a 2.85 pulley?

 

2.85 is a nice boost for sure. It’s not massive but I felt a nice increase in the buttdyno once I put it on. Afe or urd air intake, and then opening up your exhaust are all nice upgrades that will last.

 

Good advice from the Murph. I would say if you are going to change pulleys you might as well get the quick change pulley system. Yes it is more work up front but you have more options down the road if you end up in the black hole of modding like many of us.

 

If youre gonna swap out the pulley, might as well go with the qwikchange setup with a 2.8

I'd recommend the quick change setup, too even if you don't plan on going smaller now. I had the 2.85 stealth on for about a month before I wanted to try 2.7.

 

I've got the TRD intake and exhaust - are aftermarket options going to give me significant performance increases with just a 2.80 or 2.85 pulley?

 

So far @Murphinator @Roostfactor @rjbiii and @JacksonTacoma are all bad influences. Terrible. You know I'm weak, don't tempt me like this!

Don't mess around. Just go straight for the 2.5" pulley.

 

Like Ryan, I'm also looking to upgrade my S/C, but pretty sure I want to future-proof with the quick change setup.

Does anyone still have a pulley puller, snout cutter, and pulley press I can rent/buy, or do I need to look for new ones...?

@Roostfactor, are you still making idler setups to increase belt wrap?

 

@Norton I'm just finishing up with mine.......what's your time frame?

 

Also interested in belt wrap pulley kit.

 

I tend analyze the heck out of stuff, decide on a path, gather parts/tools, and then execute. Having analyzed the heck of of this and decided on my path, I'm just beginning to gather parts/tools - meaning I'm in NO RUSH.

At what point does a fuel pump upgrade become necessary? Is 2.8 / 2.85 ok with the stock pump?

 

Any pulley change and you need the pump.
