Toyota removing pandora integrated app

Please keep us posted on this...and thanks for your efforts.

 

I made it a point to call on Saturday and have them officially document my complain about them removing Pandora from my stereo. It's the only "app" that I really use, and I explained that it was a key feature for me and influenced my decision to purchase. I just made sure I was respectful and did not raise my voice and the lady was very nice and polite. She said that they were gathering complaints / comments, so I definitely recommend other TW members call to have their voices heard.

 

I work for a major Japanese manufacturer, and one thing I learned is if you ever want to know if anyone's using a feature - just take it away.

I did not. I had my son with me and he was getting impatient to play videogames and was starting to interrupt the call.

You should have added that to your complaint. Toyota's decision to remove Pandora had a negative impact on your family's well-being.

 

Entune should include CaPlay!

 

It does, just not the version of Entune the Tacoma has.

 

Called today and had my disapproval documented. I'm not holding my breath for anything to come if it, but it's worth a shot.

On a semi related note I had them also document my erratic, neurotic transmission. That complaint got elevated up the food chain.

 

I also called the 800 number to voice my opinion. I love Pandora through Entune. I told them I was unhappy with the decision and I also bought the vehicle based on it being one of many features and sold as a feature.
The nice lady who took my call, told me the following:

-she told me that Pandora got bought out by SiriusXM
-She said that SiriusXM is planning to commercialize and/or incorporate Pandora into their lineup of offerings, thus effectively getting rid of Pandora
-because of the above mentioned they (Toyota) and Pandora (SiriusXM) could not come to an agreement on the contract, and so it is being taken away

I asked if they were planning to replace it with something else and she hinted that yes, that would be the case, but not solid info on what it would be replaced with.

Do any of you notice a difference in sound quality (lower) in playing your pandora app on your phone bluetooth through your HU vs listening to pandora directly through the HU?

 

Yes definitely. That's the main reason I'm pissed about loosing the AP.

Welp, did the update today and Pandora is indeed gone

 

Same here, as soon as I turned on my truck it was waiting for me with a "mandatory update" Pandora said it wasn't working before I clicked yes, so they disabled it through the app already. At least they removed the icons

 

I'm just glad they didn't brick my radio.

 

A truck doesn’t need apps anyways. It’s a truck. Not a gottam iSomething.

Dang kids and their new fangled gadgets. Surprised you’re upset there isn’t an integrated coffee maker or fidget spinner mount.
