Thanks. You still have your 2006 in your profile, or do you have a 3rd gen? It seems like quite a bit less room than my 2nd gen.

There is room to get the bulb in and out. It's tight, but definitely do-able. I've taken my lights out more than a handful of times with no issues.

I threw in the xd extreme LED pro. Install was easy. Mine lined right up first time, no adjusting. I really like the color of the light, it makes street signs pop. Cutoff is narrower, so there's that. I also think the throw is a tad shorter, but I didn't think it's sacrificing too much. The light right in front of you is much brighter, I do like that.

I taped on the garage where the old lights were to make sure the height didn't change, it stayed the same fortunately. On the heat sinks, mine didn't have holes in them, it seems like others I've seen did, curious how hot they actually get. Also, do I have to worry about those possibly melting the washer fluid container? It's about 1/2 inch away. I'd hate to have to replace that. I looked around for a decent spot to zip tie, but didn't see anything that would be better than tucking away like I did, wondering if that'll cause issues? Thanks for everyone's help.

The more light right in front of you is caused by shifting the beam pattern toward the vehicle, (as you noticed) which aside from reducing distance projection also reduces your night vision. This is an inherant problem in all LED drop in retrofits.

Having the LEDs at 3 and 9 o’clock (no adjusting) will give best results.

Yours did not have holes because you received the brand new higher output model, which is about 10% brighter than the previous model with holes.

Anyone have the jw speaker led lights for a Jeep that can compare with the Xd xtreme pro led? We have the jw speakers on our jk and I am curious how they compare.

I put these on my 17 pro but I was getting flashed by onoming traffic every once in a while. Anybody else? And anything I could do? I want to run them and they match the fogs and les strip so perfectly but I don’t want to be annoying AED7A5E4-5D09-4DD6-9A65-558C30E1DC23.jpg

Lots of people on here more knowledgeable than me, but I'm thinking they're aimed a little too high. When I installed my xenon depot's, I turned on my lights first and put up tape to see where they where aimed, then checked after to make sure they were still good. I assume you can throw the stock bulb's back in, then do this process over. I believe there is a specific distance from the wall which I didn't do, but figured this would be close enough. I have not been flashed, but it's only been 2 hours of driving so far. I will say, I didn't have to adjust mine whatsoever, they were correct right after tossing them in.

My father has a third gen, and I replaced the head lights in his. Sorry for the confusion. there is less room compared with the 2nd but you still should not have any problems.

I appreciate you getting back. I did it last night. It's not nearly as bad as it looks. Once you start fiddling around, there's plenty of room.

OK. Attempted to read a good majority of this thread - had two 10hr flights in 3 days. Looks like LED has changed since the OP in 2016.

In summary, Hikari V2 LED (LED) and XenonDepot Extreme Pro are the way to go for LED. Seen Hikari is good but quality has not consistent. Is that still the case with the "V2" ? Also does the Hikari require the anti flicker harness?

Is the XD Extreme Pro LED applicable H11 applicable for LB, HB and Fog?

Don’t put drop in LEDs in a low beam/fog reflector housing. The 3rd gen projectors protect from glare and high beam does not matter for glare.

    Check this out for fogs:

I'll check out that fog thread. I was considering getting LED fog lamps for a better cast of light. To avoid the glare. Maybe the Marimotto (sp?)

As for the projector, thats ok with the drop in LED. But with tthe HB being just that, the glare wouldn't matter in that case right? Since the intent of high beams is to project light everywhere when no oncoming cars?

Morimotos are a valid option but their performance is poor compared to other alternatives. Info is in that linked thread.

You can run LEDs in projectors without glare due to the projector design. Beam distance projection is typically reduced but output is brighter than stock. And correct, glare doesn't matter for high beams, the pattern is to spread light though it still may not project as far.

Cool. Thanks for the quick reponses. I've seen you've done a little bit of testing.

Had LEDs for my low beams, just switched them out for xenondepos philips 4300k HID kit and wow what a difference. The previous LEDs I had were terrible and didn’t throw far at all. Also had light scattered every where, If your thinking of replacing the low beams definitely go with HIDs.

Interested - ffor an additional $50 if I'm already dropping $119 for the XD LED, it might be considered.

Do you have any LED vs HID pics?
