I'm happy with my Procomp rims and they were about $120 a piece

Yeah as of right now I'm really digging the F5s. I want to do more research on them. I don't see a problem with around 180 a wheel new. Is that around what you paid? I also am trying to decide between grey or black for a quicksand.

For affordability, watch craigslist/fb marketplace for Fj or 4runner takeoffs. I got a set of basic FJ rims with nearly new Cooper at3s on them for $300 total. Got the rims powder coated black and am pretty happy with them. If you didn't know, FJ and 4runner six lug wheels fit our trucks and have more backspacing.

Also look into FN wheels other options. Like thier Koenig wheels. I got the 17” countersteer in gunmetal. It’s a very nice accent to my mgm paint. They are light and not expensive for what you are getting. I bought a set of six for what would only get me 4 of most quality aftermarket wheels.

Those are the others I have been researching. It will be a while before I buy some. I've been buying the essentials like bed mats, mud flaps etc before I go cosmetic. Gonna save some up for cosmetics now!

Definitely check Discount Tire's Thanksgiving promo deal. 20% off plus they will do free installation if you buy wheels & tires at the same time. I think I got 18 months free financing also. Basically they gave me 10% rebate for each on 2 Mastercard cards that I used to pay off another debt. I just did the Labor day sale and got these

Did you do 285s or stock size? I have the same setup with 285/70 and love them. Got a great deal on the wheels from realtruck too. 20180929_182618.jpg

I understand, but to me the wheels are more than cosmetic. They are light for their size, my 17s are 20 or 21 pounds, most others are 25+. If you stay with 16s I believe they are just under 20lbs. Save weight in wheels is a performance enhancement in my book. Less rotating mass is better for acceleration. In my case it helps offset added weight in larger tires and armor.

You have a very great point. I do not plan on modifying the suspension at all. I do plan on keeping 16s. So the 16x8 would be my best option if I were to go with some wheels?

Yes dependent on tires size and what you plan to do. I know I am going to 285/75 so 34” tire, and I also was paying attention to my offset. I didn’t want it to stick out past the fenders or be close to the uca when I change those out. Rim width is also good for me at 8” so that it bubbles out just right to protect the rim a little and keep a good profile on the tire. I Am picky, but to each their own.
