I've lost my 6 year fight to salvage my right leg. 4 bad infections and 20 surgeries later, it's infected at the knee joint again.

My knee and femur were crushed in a motorcycle accident in 2010. Told I'd never be able to walk on it again.
I sought a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic. After multiple surgeries they were able to get my walking with a complete steel hinge like joint. But I've been plagued with
an old staph knee infection that keeps coming back. So it's time to quit fitting a losing battle and amputate it. December 3rd is the date I become Jonny 5 toes.
I'm bummed to say the least. But the outcome will be better for me and my health. No more constant pain and repeated surgeries every 10-12 months. I'll be able to stop taking the
strongest antibiotic pills made 4 times a day and the IV antibiotics thru a PICC line after surgeries. That shits hard on the liver, kidneys and G.I. track..
Doc's tell me cut to walk 6 months and 1 year to be good a walking with a prosthetic leg.

Anyways I have 6 weeks to get some shit done!! So I wont be around much. Prolly always lurking in the shadows.
