good practice to do every year or two, they dont last very long with heavy springs

 

How long have you had those coilovers installed?

 

Not long, but I bought them used. New coils, and maybe 10k on the shocks when installed 10k miles ago. The top hats/bushings were some the seller just had lying around so no telling how old they were.

 

Randy, tomorrow is alignment day. Just to be sure, you said 0 degrees Toe, 0 degrees Camber and 3 - 3.5 degrees Caster, right? Should I specify 3.5 or just give them the range?

Oh, and I am sure everyone will get a laugh outta this but the alignment is just the front tires on a truck correct? There is no rear wheel alignment?

 

Correct on all accounts! I give them a range because it doesn’t need to be EXACT, but within those numbers. Makes the techs job a little easier giving them some wiggle room and they’ll like you more (in my experience)

 

All alignment techs hate me for some reason. I'm gonna try the range thing

My Dad was stationed at Hikam, and we lived in Keneohe. We use to go to the monument all the time. I feel ya Mike.

 

The guy that did my alignment I told him I wanted as close to 4.0 as he could get. He did 3.7 and 4.2 and said he never wanted to do it again.....lol

 

I'm getting push back from the guy here at the shop. He's complaining that it will take longer than normal, and that when he does this (0,0,3.5) that people complain and then want it redone, and he'll be on the lift all day, bla bla bla

 

Sounds like he's pissy that I did my own lift

 

Sheesh, that's annoying. Just remain firm on what you want. It shouldn't take any longer than a normal alignment if he's halfway competent.

 

It's a legit shop. Toyota and Lexus specialists it says. It's going on the rack now. So we will see.

 

My cam tabs are completely flattened and my fresh alignment will probably go out of whack on the first green trail at AOAA.

Should I weld my TC cam tab gussets today?

Or should I go back to bed?

 

I like to take it to the shady guys. They complain less.
