Deer hunting BS thread

We've been seeing a couple of odd things over the past couple of seasons in Eastern Oregon. Last year, my dad took the biggest buck of his life in early October and he was already swollen necked. On the drive home, I was following a Jeep with a forked horn on the back in FULL velvet.

This year, the buck started moving with the does and acting like the rut was getting started by October 5th.

Both years have been abnormally warm for the season. Typically, our rut starts in late November.

My uncle who lives out that way and hunts the Okanagan National Forest said the same thing when I was talking to him earlier this week, actually. He said that the season of '16 was weird because it was abnormally cold and they had to move down to hunt the lower elevations because of snow and considered cutting it short. So in '17 they packed extra cold weather gear in case it happened again and they ended up sweating all week because it was abnormally warm.
So this year they said 'the hell with it' and they're just going back to their normal gear load again

 

We have a youth weekend, last weekend of October for 16 and under to hunt. There is some nice deer taken.

 

What kind of deer is it?

 

Looks like a regular Whitetail to me; ears look too small for it to be a muley and I think he's further East than their turf anyway.

Here in Ny estrogen and testosterone in the deer herd peaks around Nov. 1st . So a cold front anywhere from the end of October on would be awesome . Raining like a mofo now ,temp supposed to drop quite a bit tomorrow and Saturday night !

I checked my cameras today and it looks like a the boys are starting to size each other up!

The one on the right has a 3rd main beam but I think he needs at least 1 more year.

 

Holy shit ,what state is that ? I have seen maybe 2 bucks that big in my whole life in this part of NY ! People shoot spikes and fork horns around here so not really NOT a lot of nice bucks . This was after last rifle season so hopefully he is still alive !

I had a guy kicked off the property I hunt because the landowners tenant gave him permission guy shoots every thing and doesn’t tag most of it . I talked to the landowner and he never heard of the guy . This persons family is known for shooting everything ,POS ass holes . He tried to start a fight with me on FB ,what an ass hole

 

We don't tolerate it either where we hunt. There is some brothers that hunt around us, that act the same. They have been caught so many times but still continue to hunt illegally. Should lock them up might change there minds.

 

This is 2 brothers and the father . The one brother I’m pretty sure was jacking deer on this property for a while before the tenant told him it was OK to hunt . I took care of that . There is another guy that borders this property that told me he shoots all small bucks because they will never amount to anything dumb ass . Caught him trespassing a few times
