That’s by brand. Tacoma got ranked a “worst buy” by CR with the lowest predicted reliability.

...and in every magazine, the Tacoma consistently gets beat by just about every other compact/mid sized truck out there.

And again - lol - TW has sunk to a new low. After years of whining about how CR is a shit publication that knows crap about cars, we’re now regarding it as meaningful? TW - the gift that keeps on giving.

Shit, the third gen gets its ass handed to it every day here and this is a fucking Tacoma forum.

I echo every point OP made, except the transmission doesn't bother me.

You only get to drive it for 20 minutes or so, (next time I buy a new car I'll insist on a long test drive) so yea, once you settle in, you notice you just can't quite get comfortable.

And the seats are just plain garbage. That can't be debated.

The Bronco is going to be pretty sweet. A higher tech american 4runner! Btw that v6 makes Gobbs more power than the v8 does! Even the little 2.7L by which I've heard rumors of being in that vehicle makes plenty of power! V8s are always awesome but I'd sacrifice the sound for fuel economy. Z pricing is the best way to go. I wish I could get pricing that good.

I was a "GM guy" before my Tacoma...Suburban, Silverado, Tahoe...then a Tundra, and ultimately a Tacoma. I didn't move to Toyota because GM is "bad". I choose my trucks based on my needs, and they all perform(ed) their intended functions, regardless of the logo on the grille.

    Congrats on the truck, OP...

Bad reviews because of a seal, a cps, a resetting radio, and a fan blower. Big deal.
Know whats important to worry about and whats not. I've replaced many diff gaskets in my life, and never got excited once about it. Now Led Zepplin cutting off in the middle might upset me a bit lol.
Snowflakes have sunk to a new low.
Truth is that lexus engine and other stuff will last way longer than any other POS ford or GM with the cushy seats.
2.5 years here and just a replaced battery. Solid truck. No issues. Nothing.

I thought I was the only 6'04 person who fit in the Tacoma no problem...I also find the seats comfortable (including on multiple long drives). Granted I have a short inseam and picked one with no sunroof for the extra headroom. As for ducking to see the lights...well, I've had to do that for every car I've owned.

I dont get the title "RIP Tacoma", the Taco isnt dead. I was expecting to see a totaled truck with a safe occupant. You left it behind. This is really a goodbye/farewell to a great truck that wasnt for you.

Why do so many of the full size trucks look lowered? The truck in the op would make a great snow plow where I live.

I think it's functional for ease of loading the bed, gas mileage, etc. Probably makes it difficult to get over the speed bumps at the mall though.

Never once did I say anything about the F150’s quality, or even the GM’s for that matter. I simply pointed out the flaws and hypocrisy in the use of CR to tout quality when it is very down on the Tacoma. I also just tried to congratulate the OP on his new truck - wasn’t trying to shit on the Tacoma. Slow your roll, fanboy.

And over 10 years of F-Series in my family, also with no major repairs. Just as worthless of an argument as your 2.5 years with your Tacoma. My Tacoma was awesome for 140k miles and I loved it as well. My F150s have been just as great.

Best of luck with your new truck. I had the same truck until it hit 70k miles and sold it for half of what I purchased it for 2 years later. The transmission started slipping and was crap when it was new, replaced the "high pressure" radiator and hoses twice, and the ac compressor went bad as well. If you don't have the extended warranty better go get it now. Because GMC loves taking your money.

Visit the GMC forum and keep up with your maintenance. Change your oil every 5k instead of the 7k they recommend. Get the extended warranty!

See you back here in a couple years. Best of luck to you.

I went back to Toyota and I'll never get another Chevorlet or Ford. Been jilted too many times by them.

First use of "fan boy" in the thread. 15 yards for unoriginality and automatic first down.

The nice thing about those GMCs is they throw in a free Luke Bryan CD and a case of Coors Light

I like my Tacoma, but my F150 with the Coyote has been a really reliable truck. IMO people get so caught up in being cucks for a brand that they'll accept crap.
