After a ridiculous amount of reading, I think I have a path forward. Going through Headstrong as much as I can. Please let me know if I'm missing anything or I have something wrong. Just looking for a better stance/look, smoother on-road driving, and be off-road capable.

Truck is a 2018 OR DCSB Auto, OVTuned with a hidden winch from SDHQ, which brought my front end down about 1/2".

Pre-assembled 6112/5160 2" setup with Medium Dakar leaf pack
    ECGS bushing
SCS F5 17x8.5 Jet Black Matte wheels, -10 offset w/ 4.3" BS 6x139.7 Bolt Pattern
    285/70-17 117T Falken Wildpeaks
CMC and Pinch-Weld, then alignment, then trim/mold whatever is left
    Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator

@Turd Hawg I have 6112s and really like them. Great on road and off road. I have found that they excel most on rough dirt roads (logging roads) at medium speed.

What coils are you going with? Other weight on the rig? Bumpers? Skids? etc..

I saw that on Smittys writeup, looked them up and I found their only purpose is more clearance. I'm not offroad that much to worry about that if that's the case, definitely aren't going to get hung up on rocks anytime soon.

Pretty sure the 6112s come with 650# Eibachs. Unless they are different for the 3rd gen set up.

    Sir,

Just be warned your medium Dakar leaf pack will raise rear about 2.5 or more before "settling in". This is what I went through at least.

I ordered from headstrong and have a similar setup: fox stage 2 from headstrong, ecgs, u bolt flip, medium Dakars, scs ray 10s in 17s, k02s 285 70 17, pinch plus cmc, and I think that's it. I wanted the 6112s but they were out of stock and what the heck, giving fox a try.

Haven't been off road yet, waiting on sliders, and family life, yeah excuses regardless. Anyway, love on road ride quality, wasnt a fan of the floaty boat feel of the stock ride. Curious to what you report.

Side note, I didnt care for the lift being 2 inches or over, just desired the same as you. But until my rear leafs settle in a bit, my rear rake is closer to 1.7 inches over the front and my lift looks like 2+. Never measured stock as I didn't care that much.

PS-I was told by Headstrong that it takes up to 6 months to settle down about half inch in rear....

I’m glad you spoke up, that’s way too much lift in the rear for me, I was already concerned about the 2” I thought it made. Maybe I could do the addaleaf and put on what archive suggested? In hind sight for you, what would you have done?

I went single AAL (2") in he rear. Installed at 5k miles and lasted 3k miles before I replaced them with the full Dakar pack at 8k miles. The Dakars ride smoother and better than the AAL. Buy once, cry once.

The stock springs get really good with the Hammer hangers, but they are stuck at 10" travel. But it will depend on how much weight you carry, 3 leaf AAL are not for load capacity, and usually lift about 1" (thickness of 3 leaves) so I've heard. Dakars are good for adding weight

Not a money thing. Are there leaf pack replacement options other than the Dakar pack at 2.5”? Can I remove leafs from the Dakar pack to get lower?

Edit, saw the deavers.....now it's a money thing at almost 1k for rear leafs, not going to happen. Need to figure something out here....whether it be 1/4 spacers up front until the rear drops or sandbags in the bed to droop it down. An almost 2" rake is ridiculous

I have a uws tool box, but don’t usually carry any weight. That being said I don’t want to ride nose up with a bag of concrete in the bed either.

You can remove an overload leaf or the third leaf from the top.

You can get a custom pack from Deaver too.

In hindsight I would have looked into more AAL options. I do not want to remove the overload leaf....its a truck and (as rare as I use it as such) I like the function...also, I have an enduro bike (300 lbs) that I will load in the back once a month or so to go to the trails.

They say adding weight helps break in. For instance, I took a picture right after my lift, and you can tell that rear rake was really high. It broke in significantly after the trip home with the stock wheels and tires in the rear.

If you send me a PM with your email I'll send u some pics to show you what it looked like and what it looks like now. (Its only been a month since the mods were done).

ps-I'm a FNG to the 4x4 / lifting truck world. So please take my opinions and experience with a grain of salt. I can only share from my recent mods.

***2nd edit*** some have had good luck removing that overload leaf. Marie from headstrong also mentioned it as an option but not a necessity.
