Never heard that one before. Good name for em, although they're arguably even less useful than carp. I've never seen them do anything but shit up any business park I've ever worked at, especially the ones with the retention ponds.

Good morning. Need to glue up my half lap joints on the Polaris Ranger box I'm building but working temp of Titebond III is 45 deg. Going to be awhile before that happens time to bring it inside and turn the den into a wood working shop. Not the first time I have done it that is what plastic sheets are for. And painting when I'm done.

I was wondering... At one time came close to building a run and gun for my camera with a light attached to it for the camera to focus then a better power beamer on the flash for shooting owls at night. But many experts feel that blinds the owls and causes problems so I haven't. Better beamer flash works fine during the day for feather details on birds though.

I have a nesting pair of Great Horned here and last night they were literally right next to the house. Making a racket until about 2 AM when they finally decided to get off their roost and go kill something.

Bacon!! Same here and they were blasting at O'dark. Soon the real sky carp will be coming through. Snow and light Geese. Especially over to the West where the prairie starts. Thousands of them at a time.

Couple of years ago a friend of mine called me and said he had a pickup bed full of snows and asked if I wanted them. Told him I wasn't into eating carp either from the water or sky.

    Mornin, all.

A somewhat chilly start here, at a clear 39 degrees. I guess we'll be wearing sweaters in the house for now, at least until the tenants upstairs fire up their boiler. ;)

Was planning on sitting in a tree this morning, but steady rain (again) put that on hold.
    Rain just ended...sooo.
Heading out in a couple hours and sit till dark.

    Morning Sitrep ...

0925 hrs 55° rain , heavy at times and t storms and high temp of 65° today . Under a Flash flood warning and areal flood advisories

Rained very hard last night here with some very strong t storms and wild lightning . Had numerous weather warnings displaying on my TV and my phone . Gotta say this though the Desert can get really nasty with these strong storms

Oh and starting early Sunday Morning thru Thursday night we're under a Fire Weather watch /warning as this is our first Santa Ana event of the season

    Awesome pics !!!

I bet it rained and rained really hard there last night and still this morning!!!! . Trona isn't a place to be after heavy rain , it gets really muddy there especially if you're on or near Searle's dry lake bed
