I had Toyotas for like 20 years, Tacomas, Tundras, early pick ups, loved them all. Toyota makes a nice smaller truck in the tacoma, had a '12 Sport, and a '15 OR. Just wanted something different, which Toyota doesn't do, liked the GMC's and bought a '16 WT, put 28K miles on it, nothing at all wrong happened, no deaths. Didn't like not having a rear seat as dry storage, so I got an '17 DC 2500hd. Have like 25K miles on it now, absolutely no problem, no parts flinging off, nothing. So for all the negative experiences you hear about, there are many more positive story out there like mine. Keep your heads in the sand, though, Toyota is the only manufacturer to make a truck that lasts? Hope the OP has the same favorable results that I have. And, I hope that you all keep enjoying your Tacoma's , they're a great truck.

I don’t understand why people bash him. He was saying farewell and thanks for everything that he learned. Lighten up people, this does not impact your life.

Is the cabin smaller on the 3rd gen than on the 2nd gen? I'm 6'4 270 and fit pretty well in my 08 second gen.

It's lower when you factor in the sunroof. I would have had the same issue, but I sat in it, instead of telling myself, I have to have this one, I got the one without the sunroof. Problem solved.

Interesting... I just bought my Taco this summer and really love the truck, but my wife is looking at getting a new rig in the next year or two and she wants one now. This is good to know.

Guys come quick with “that’s what test drives are for” but the reality is no test drive whether it’s a few minutes or a few days is going to compare to actual ownership experience. Problem with Tacoma’s is simply they are very desirable even once you calculate all the reasons you shouldn’t want one. Personally I’d own one if I could talk my wife into one (she’s just not a fan) :D as I’m not willing to part with my full-size for one. I’m hoping the new Bronco will appeal to her , but we’ll see.

I’d rather see more of these threads then the ones with guys complaining about them all day. If you don’t like the Tacoma sell it and move on.

I traded my 3rd gen. I am frequent on this site. Just something about Tacoma’s. I need cab space, other wise I’d get another taco.

Crazy how active this place is, even over the F-150 forum. I still chill here.

See you in 60k miles when the transmission fails. You'll be back. Maybe a Tundra is a better fit, though.

Tacomaworld is non-stop bitching about Tacoma problems until someone says they got a GMC, and then Tacoma’s are so superior.

Number one reason why I don’t freak out about every little squeak or shift pattern. Owners on this forum are OCD as fuuuuuuck.
