Remember when

I have seen and cleaned a pool spin filter. Loved those seats in the back of the wagon.

 

Roller skating rinks. They simply dont exist anymore..... at least here. Heck you are hard pressed to find a ice rink.

 

Still love my Converse and Vans..and had the fat laces in neon and checkerboard both. I'm an old school bike rider and occasional skater

 

The one I used to frequent in Whitman MA still exists..

 

I have an ice rink two blocks from me it is where Shani Davis Trained.

 

Fresh milk streight straight from the cow. Butchering a hog after the first good frost. They still have a Sears house in Savannah Ga. I am old but going strong.

 

And nobody gave a damn back then, cause that was life. Sorry but the truth is, we weren't candyasses like the new gens. They have no idea, really.

 

Hey when you let fresh water into the tank to spin the filters (there were 6 filter discs on an axle) that thing was hard to turn. I had popeye arms before my buddies grew biceps

 

Rolled on a gold stingray, gold flake vinyl banana seat and 5 foot sissy bar. Clothes pinned a few Bobby Orr rookie cards to the forks that stuck into the spokes and clacked when I rolled. I remember putting it to the curb

 

Hardly an old guy, but I'll be turning 30 soon. THEN I'll be old right? Lol but here's my nostalgia list.

I remember when my dad was the first to get a wireless phone (not a cell phone) on our block. Called our neighbor from the front yard and tried to have a conversation with him while mowing the lawn lol.

I remember getting AOL CDs in the mail by the dozen and using them as frisbees or coasters on Mom's coffee table.

I remember ACTUAL floppy discs that you could bend. They only held one game at a time and we used them to play Oregon Trail after school before my father came to pick me and my buddies up.

I remember filling up my first tank of gas and gaving the guy a 20 dollar bill (still got lots of change back.)

And finally after a life of sports cars, I remember when my dad died and left me the truck he had just bought. My first pickup, this tacoma

 

Sorry for you losing your dad. My dad died when I was 24 my sis got his car cause I had two of my own.

 

I had a old 70's Columbia in came Mustard colors. I remember spraying it black & red in the 80's.

 

I saw someone mention candy cigarettes quite a few pages back. I work at a Toy Store/Bicycle Shop that's been around for 50 years. We still sell candy cigs, and other stuff that people think have gone away. Every now and then, we get someone that gets upset that we sell cigarettes to children. It's candy, no nicotine, haha

 

I got my first pair of Vans stolen at a roller skating rink.

 

Man that would be a nice nest egg to own 2 acres in Itasca now!

 

Here in Phoenix there is a roller skating rink. Peoria has an ice skating rink. Then Glendale has drive in movie. I haven't been to the drive in for a few years since its not in a very good area. Every Saturday morning it becomes a flee market that you have to know Spanish.

 

Has Arizona even come into the 21st century.
