What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Updated my 2018 TRD Sport with Homelink mirror from www.bobsmirrors.com.
10 minute remove and reinstall. Another 10 minutes calibrate the compass and program the Homelink.
The 12 pin plug and play was just that. I went with the used mirror option. It looked brand new and had an installers sticker on it to be sure and calibrate the compass.

 

My tent came in just in time for a quick camping trip we had planned with some friends. Have to say the Tepui ruggedized is made of much nicer material than my old tent. Happy with the purchase so far.

The DIY bed rails are working pretty well, but I definitely want a taller bed rack soon. Planning on a Relentless bed rack as of right now.

 

Wrapped my side mirrors to go along the turn signal..
Idk maybe should have gone satin black instead matte either way first time doing it and it came out ok. Since edges didn't smooth out to my liking might redo it later.

 

You definitely would love it. When I tested it after the steering wheel initial beep I then tested each horn to make sure there all working, I hit the emergency button on the key fob and was instantly 100% sure I bought a great product.

 

I’ve heard fishing line works well for debadging. How about removing the left over residue/glue?

 

Got rid of dealer painted pinstripes. Added some shackles.

 

I have heard that Goof-off works well and doesn't harm the paint.

 

WD40 worked great for me. Get all the glue you can with your fingernail first. Just wet a soft rag with WD40, wife off the glue, spot wash and apply wax. Just like it was never there.

The skateboard-like tape strips I had been using for just a few months were getting worn out. So I went ahead and got some rubber strips and cheap epoxy from Harbour Freight. I used the painters tape so the epoxy could harden in place, as the strips are obviously meant for flat surfaces. We'll see how they hold up.

Funny side note: My son wears carbon fiber prosthetic legs and was beating the crap out of these Mobtown sliders when getting in and out. These strips should offer better protection from him as well.

 

I used a pinstripe removal disk I got off Amazon. Took 20 minutes.

Did you use this one? I need to remove mine. Some areas have faded or peeled off. Dumb dealer add-ons!!!

 

That's the one. It goes through decals like butter also. Hit pinstripes with this and then goo gone the remnants.

 

Thanks, it's a work in progress. Every time I go camping I learn something else that I could do better. My biggest gripe right now is organizing everything. Seems like if I want to get something out of one of my containers I practically have to remove everything else to find it haha
