I love Rock Auto. I don't buy from then a whole lot, not like I do from Amazon & ebay but they have great prices, great selection, & they ship fast.

Rock auto is cool, have to be careful with what you buy though.. got some UBJs (beck and arnley) that fit but wouldn’t let the snap ring sit in the groove.. returned them and got oem..

it’s actually pretty easy, cleaning everything is probably the most time consuming part.. I’ve watched the Timmy the Toolman video for valve cover gaskets like 5 times lol.

Yeah I ordered a engine rebuild kit for an old geo metro 3cyl xfi that I rebuilt like 7 or 8 years ago. Just kinda forgot about rockauto since Amazon started carrying everything in existence lol

Yeah but to be fair, that's not Rock Auto's fault, they don't make the part. They can only choose to stop carrying specific parts that have issues. I've heard someone complain about Rock Auto's customer service before. I've never needed to return anything before, never had an issue with them yet.

True that. Sometimes Rock Auto is cheaper tham Amazon even with paying shipping. But can't beat Amazon's customer service & Prime shipping. Sometimes I'll pay a little extra from Amazon just so I can have it the same day. I love Amazon's Same Day Shipping.

Doing this exactly sometime next week. Akebono pads were half the cost of hawk ceramics. Brembo blanks with the coating. Wouldve gone centric but I drank the brembo koolaid when I ordered them. Will go centric next time. Tundra brake upgrade seems overrated if you have decent pads and stainless lines.

I put on stainless lines when I put on new rotors & pads earlier this year. I couldn't tell a difference this time either. In my experience they only make a difference when your old brake lines are shot. But in that case, so will new standard brake lines. But they look cool though. ;)

Added a "appearance rack" to my shell today. I know it has virtually no good use, it is for looks only. It was $22.00 at local U-Pull yard. So, if I decide later I don't want it on there, in the trash it can go with no guilt.20181013_170900[1].jpg

I got it off an Isuzu Rodeo. Since they have a roof that is virtually flat, they are the best fit on a shell. I would say Suburu is a close second contour wise, and nicer looking, but the fasteners are bottom up (above the headliner), so more work to remove and they have some curvature, so fit...? Isuzu tightens from the top down, so basically a 10-15 minute removal.

Sorry for bad pic, but the wreck in the background had this truck blocked in the garage. :ballchain:

No kool-aid involved with Brembo rotors, mate. Great quality and they make a lot of the rotors that Toyota uses at the factory. I'm going with the centric rotors 120.44109 from Amazon with prime. 35 bucks each and free shipping. Not the special alloy rotors, but we'll see how they are. I expect them to be just fine. But we'll see

I use them to quote friends on work all the time, cause I have no ideas about making money on parts and they're always the cheapest for name brands. I like to do the price comparison feature too so you can build two lists side by side and see just how much or little you'll save by choosing parts from different brands

Damn you just bedlined the grill like that on the truck? Did any of it get on your condenser or radiator? Looks like it did, if yes, that's not good!

Good job though for all in one day.

I highly doubt it. I don't see how it possibly could be related. Did yours just warp once or has it been an on going issue?

Only time I ever had warped rotors was from using cheap $30 (cheap for the auto parts store) rotors. Threw those out, switched to quality ones & never had a problem again.

Has anyone painted or sealed their floor pans? I want to seal it with something before I throw the carpet on there.

I had some good slotted and drilled rotors from a buddy on here. He sas'd his rig and gave them to me. Took my truck to shop for a wheel bearings and they broke one of my rotors....i told him to replace my rotor or replace both. He replaced both with cheap im assuming.....they warped in less than 2 months.....they sound horrible and feel like shit. ....hes blaming it on my lbj's and saying that i have a wheel bearing going bad.....im calling bs
