Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Heck I came from a 2014 Ram 1500 with the Hemi and 8sp (one of the nicest drive-trains I've ever had) and I don't think the Tacoma is that bad. I think Toyota did a crap job on the ECU/TCU software, and could have geared the transmission better. If Matt or someone could come up with a way to disable the learning aspect of the trans, we all would be alot happier.

 

Anywhere I can find more info on Matt’s exhaust? Is this still in the works? I’m hopeful that between 1.05 and the exhaust (as Matt describes it) will be enough to avoid regearing or, heaven forbid... turbos. I dont have that kind of coin and I don’t think the truck is that far from reasonable.

 

Just pre ordered the handheld. Can’t wait!

 

Woohoo picked up a new tundra today. No more being miserable every time I drive to work. I knew 1.05 wouldn't show up until at least thanksgiving and just couldn't wait anymore. So glad I did cause now thinking about how my truck drives is not even a thought anymore, best decision I ever made.

LOL who knows how long these 3rd gens will last with their crappy transmission software, which could ultimately mean premature failure. If it doesn't last, I'll buy something else, just not another 3rd gen. Tundra or bust basically.

After driving around on 1.04 91 for a bit, I definitely think it solved some of my issues, but I feel like it introduced some different ones. Really crossing my fingers for 1.05, but if that's no good a custom tune is the last chance for this truck or I'll have to follow suit and jump platforms, maybe even manufacturers. Crossing my fingers

 

It seems everyone worried about reliability has <10k miles on the truck. I’m over 120,xxx between the two trucks I’ve had with no issues

I have a 1st and 2nd Gen now, between the two, I've got 300K miles... with no issues. I stalk you 3rd Genners because I am getting the itch for one!

 

I’ll be over 100k on my 2017 before too much longer. Around 70k today in 18 months.
