Was having some light vibes at the gas pedal that were new and getting worse. Looks like the driveshaft zerks haven't had any grease in the 40k on the truck, and I haven't been super nice in the last 30k. I learned about the zerks and where they all were thanks to TW (even though I should have added them to the big service 10k ago )! Greased all 5 and boom, smooth as....uh, grease? Honestly impressed it actually worked so well.

Along with grease in the UCA zerks, oil and filter, clean and oil the K&N filter, clean cabin filter, torqueing a bunch of suspension bolts, torqueing skid and sliders, and added a BPF front recovery point. All just in time for the first "snow." :burnrubber:

Got an oil change and did a quick, half-ass wash of the exterior since the weather wasn't great. Then filled the gas tank again... got home and laid down on the ground and slid under the truck searching for a hole in the gas tank that would explain why the gas gauge goes from Full to Empty in the blink of an eye... no luck there but I still love her anyway.

Fat Bob's lift kit, 30's on stock steelies, lunchbox locker in the rear, and a ton of other general mods and additions to help the utility of the truck for my particular uses.
Another weekend and you know what that means... PyroTaco is back dealing with more electrical and wiring. Seems to be my theme for this months series of posts LOL. Started off replacing the 12v socket covers that snapped off like a week after buying the truck. This time around I went with an aftermarket cover that was just barely able to slide over the stock plastic ring that was left.

Now that that's done and looks significantly better, time to jump headlong into wiring chaos. See in the above picture the crap-ton of wires just sitting there in the cubby of the console? I'm sick of it. Time to move the attached electronics to the back wall behind the bench and handle the wiring while I'm at it. Here's another pic before I started... The wires are all jammed in the cubby behind my ham radios head. It's hard to see them for the most part, but the wires were just not cleanly ran.

Started off by removing the console, the radio, the AUX/INPUT port, the 3 blanks, and dust lol.

Took the AUX/Input jack and moved it behind the A/C controls (there's a reason). From there I ran a USB extension cable down the side of the trans tunnel under the carpet to the back. Did the same for a stereo extension cable also plugged into the AUX/INPUT. Did the same thing for the ham radio controller head cable and the external GPS line for it, except I left the far left blank out and the run out through the hole there. From here I made sure the cables were all placed into split loom. The cables dont completely run out of the carpet, but exit at the end of the console. Still looks way better than it did. As you can see below, there are 2 split looms running out from underneath the console plus my always-on 12v for my solar panel hookup or constant power. Now off to the back wall.

Now its time to mount the electronic goodies to the ball. Nothing that good ol velcro cant fix. However, this is where some more electronics are added. Took the USB extension and connected it to a small USB hub. This allows me to have switched power for the AudioCast (Apple Airplay for the truck) and the External GPS for the Ham Radio. The audio extenders are for each of those items as well. One is 2.5mm and the other is 3.5mm. Once everything was mounted, simply cleaned up the wiring a little more and it's all ready to go and working great.

The round thing is the AudioCast and the USB Hub is next to it.^

Now since that's done what else to do but fix a switch blank that had a hole drilled into it... Didn't get a pick of the hole in the plastic before I use 5 min quick set epoxy, but you can see in the fir image before sanding and painting the outline of the hole.

Now for some sanding and paint to make it look good.

Sanded, painted, and got a few raindrops on it when I had the door open. At any rate, it's fixed. Just glad I'm able to fix the majority of the crap the previous owner did for the most part minus some of the chew marks in the plastic. Super easy process though if you take your time, use tape, the epoxy, sand, and paint. Till next time!!

Sorry for the late response, didnt know I had any alerts. I didnt have to notch the shroud, there was space behind the centric rings. I did have to notch the bulb mount adapter ring to get the wires out of housing. Not sure if thats what I was supposed to do but works great so far.

Oh there will be some mods all right
It was slightly windy so the birds we saw were skittish and flew right away. That combined with alot of the underbrush still standing made for a zero bird day. Still beautiful out though.

It's excellent. Put half the old car payment in a savings account and come new truck time you'll have nice trade in and a huge down payment.
