I think this is the best advice for your decision. Never put much thought into why I either loved or hated the look of QS or Cement trucks, but that’s exactly why. Too much continuity.

Flip a coin, best out of 3. Someone once told me that you don’t take the result of the coin flips as the answer, you take whatever you begin to hope the result will be while flipping the coin.

I actually like them both. It’s a really personal choice.

    Yes, absolutely.

A couple of things that I will say in favor of SSM is the stock wheels look good with it and so does the grille. Makes the nasty chrome accents not as nasty too.

And when it’s raining/overcast, the SSM looks damn near cement.

I agree with that. Wish my cement had SR grill. It’ll look better with Pro or black rims as well.

Cement was my second choice and I would have bought the cement one on the lot if it would have had a long bed instead of ordering the SSM from another dealership.

I basically looked past the factors like black wheels and grille when I was looking to buy one. It was all new to me and I was just excited to be in the buying process. It wasn’t until I joined TW that I started seeing other people’s trucks and realizing how much those details make or break the appearances. I’m actually glad that I didn’t discover TW first, because the damn truck would have been delivered with suspension, lift, wheels, tires and any blacked out option there is to be had haha. Probably a sport hood included to boot. Would’ve ended up paying more for the OR than a Pro.

Here's my silver sky taco... really like the color, especially since it hides dirt/dust/water spots so well.

Taking delivery on a Cement OR tomorrow 10/15. Would like to hear from those with cement on how well it hides water spots, road grime, and off-road pin striping.
Thanks, having a hard time concentrating on anything but the new truck.

I went with cement cause its a unique color for now. A lot more silver cars and trucks on the road.

Maybe my opinion is biased, but I feel the silver sky looks better in the long term, while the cement has some initial wow-factor that starts to bug a little over time. We have had the ability to paint cars both silver or grey for decades and decades. There is a reason we were not painting them grey, as the colour is just not all that appealing to the human eye on something like an automobile. Silver always has a certain good thing going for it and the SSM colour is a particularly nice silver.

    Just my two bits.

Both colours are on the ‘boring’ end of the spectrum, but the Silver is a slightly more apppealing shade of boring.

I'm about 1.5 months in on my cement and it hides dirt and watermarks very well. Spent last weekend waxing the truck and then it rained (of course) and I had totally forgot it rained by the next day the truck looked like it was freshly waxed. I'm very impressed. It won't hide it as well as white/ssm but it's doing a great job.

Thank you. Good to hear. Getting excited for the end of the day to get here so I can pick it up. I'll be happy to be back into a Tacoma after a year and a half in a JKU.

Same experience with @Zion. However, I can see water spots pretty distinctly on the hood while driving, so wipe that down if it bothers you.

How was the JKU, by the way?

JK was fine - just... well, fine. Nothing wrong with it, lifted it a little, put a 34" tire on, all the normal things that one might do in the first year of ownership. But it never really grew on me or became a part of the family. Sounds strange, I know. Certainly not like my old Tacoma did. When I saw the Off Road with the premium package (mostly the dual climate control) I figured it was an sign. If momma ain't happy(cold), ain't nobody happy. Dealership gave me what I thought was a fair trade-in value for the Jeep. Never got used to the Jeep wave thing. Always was waving a second too late, after the other one had already passed.

yeah same here with the waterspots on the hood. The way the hood is, you can clearly see reflection in it (so its great when you keep your truck clean) but that also means its much more obvious with water spots. From a distance, however, it's impossible to see.

I got the Cement and Love the color. But i will say SSM is an amazing color and i've seen some amazing ones that make me wish at times i got that color. In the end i have no regret with Cement but just take your pick they are honestly all great (except for voodoo blue lol)
