They do zip up. I leave them open to air out for a while after getting back from a trip plus it is easier to get the air out when I fold it over to store.

Picked up my CVT Mt. Shasta this weekend. Big shout out to Tom @Cascadia Tents Chattanooga. Super cool and awesome guy.

Ummmm.... wow this thing is bigger and heavier than I expected. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's going to definitely be spending more time on the truck than I anticipated. Now I know why you guys leave these mounted on the vehicle even when you're not going camping.

Bed bars will be here Thursday, then I need to paint and cure them. It'll likely be this weekend before I'm officially up and running.

I've watched CVT's video on initial assembly and read the owner's manual. Sounds like I need to lightly mist the tent and rain fly with water on its maiden set-up. Anything else I need to do and look out for?

Did you have any issues with your RTT mounted on the Yakima bars? I would like to go the same set up as yours but Yakima does not recommend their clamp racks for RTT mounting on the Tacoma. I want to use my other Yakima attachments with a Yakima rack.

Has anyone mounted a RTT on your cab with a Yakima or similar style of rack? I read that Yakima, Thule and Rhino do not recommend mounting a RTT on their racks that clamp to the door sill due to the RTT and occupant weights torquing the clamps at attachment points.

Ok... can anyone school me on the different Tepui Ayer 2 options? There are 4 of 'em, they have slightly different prices, but in my limited research it seems like the Baja one can have the same setup as the Expedition. I'm kinda confused not gonna lie

The mesh is for Baja so you aren't getting super hot at night. Ideal for hot weather

The ultralight is what it sounds like. Ideal for mild weather

While the explorer is the "highest" edition of the Ayer and you can add an annex apparently. Smaller version of the Kukenam

Finally the aluminized is I'm assuming just like the ultralight except made with aluminum and ideal for bad weather

But I could be wrong :notsure: just what I got from reading the descriptions and looking at the pictures

I was watching some YouTube and it looks like the Baja has a cover that makes it look just like the Explorer, though. That’s what started my confusion

Maybe the explorer you can take off the canvas and make it a Baja? Maybe the Baja comes with the canvas to make it an explorer?

Also, it looks like they’re all made of aluminum...

Maybe I should just email them :bananadead:

I'm pretty sure on most of them you can take off the cover to become a Baja. But I know @Box Rocket will be able to clarify everything

I like that with the awning. Very nice setup. Hope to run something similar someday.

Good to know. I have one of the @ChandlerDOOM hardshell RTTs and was going to try to add an awning at some point. Wonder how difficult it would be to attach a zipper to the top shell. thanks!

My tent came in yesterday just in time for a quick camping trip we had planned with some friends. Have to say the Tepui ruggedized is made of much nicer material than my old tent. Happy with the purchase so far.

The DIY bed rails are working pretty well, but I definitely want a taller bed rack soon. Planning on a Relentless bed rack as of right now.

Well I’ve made it this far.

I know the easiest solution is to just buy longer bolts, but is there a better solution? Seems like a different type of clamp would work better on the bed bar for more surface area. Or do the majority just use the standard flat mounts that come with the tent?

Just got my Roam Adventure Co RTT! Mounted on a Warrior Products Bed Rack. One trip under the belt. Found some things that need to improve the setup but loving it so far!
