So, my lawnmower finally died on me halfway through my yard yesterday (second-hand Troy Bilt with side valve B&S). Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to go out and purchase a new one right at the end of the mowing season here. Does anyone have experience with which engine is the better one to get (Honda vs B&S)? I have it narrowed down to two similar mowers that are the same price from Home Depot; one is a Toro with a B&S engine and one is a Honda with the Honda engine (of course). The Toro has slightly more torque, weights less (80 vs 84 pounds), and has larger rear wheels, all of which appeal to me because I have some pretty steep parts in my yard. My issue is that the general Internet consensus is the Honda is the better engine, plus it uses a two blade system vice the one blade on the Toro. I probably can't go wrong with either, but I was curious if anyone had opinions or experience with either.

    A thing or two...
My Troybilt push mower has a Honda engine that has been reliable. I've never had anything with a B&S engine.

    Finally!
    You crazy son.
I had a toro with the briggs engine. It was great. From what i understand hondas are great, but parts are more expensive. Caleb @Mr. Projekt has my old mower. It has the blade clutch so you can walk around and pick stuff up to move without having to restart it. Helpful if you have lots of branches/toys/passed out people in your yard

I'm from Charleston... I know all about the heat and humidity and hate it. It's still hot and humid in DC but that's not nearly as bad. That's one of the reasons I moved up... To get away from the extreme heat humidity and to have 4 seasons.

I'm more of a 1-2 seasons type of guy to be honest, haha. I just hate the cold with a passion. I don't even know what I'd do if I moved further up North.
