Recent rain here finally enabled burn restrictions to be lifted. Got back from camping yesterday morning after being out two nights with the Repo pup. Stayed in a small CG, one group of hunters had bagged two bucks already. Anyway, burned up limbs I had laying around my burn pile to dry some. Took me maybe 90 minutes to feed the fire, lots of work and hot.

Another day, another medical scare for my parents. Took my dad to the doctor's this morning after his BP went over 200. Bette Davis was right; gettin' old ain't for sissies.

Well now dad is in the hospital. He had symptoms last night that could have been heart attack and they called 911. I went to the hospital and stayed with him until they took him to his room from the ER. No sign of actual heart attack so far but they wanted to monitor and do a few more tests. I'm hopeful he's coming home today. Fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts and words.

Hope your dad continues to improve.
Dug up the rest of my potatoes couple days ago, filled the two crispers in my fridge.
Finally got a fire extinquisher for the garage. Our small volunteer Fire Department had a pancake breakfast this AM, (first eater today), talking with one member, he mentioned they had a extinquisher program so I jumped all over the $15 deal for a four lb. one. With all my lanterns and stoves, I've really needed one for years.

Aaaannnnnddd he's home again. One change to his pharmaceutical supplies. Whatever it was that was causing the pains, it was NOT his heart.

It's funny -- it's a lot of time and a lot of stress having parents in their 90's. And it's a blessing that they're still here with us.

Agreed! Lynn's Mom turns 92 today. Still hanging in there and lives down the hill from us on her own. We check on her daily. She has some health issues but still is able to drive to a few places - she'll only venture to the hairdresser and her favorite restaurant where she meets her 93 year old friend for dinner every Wednesday - both within a 5 mile drive. Getting her to various medical appointments, the bank, etc, keeps Lynn busy but having her with us is a blessing.

    Morning all:
    That's good news Dave!

Two over 90, looks like there is still hope Mark! :fingerscrossed: I don't personally know any 90 yr. old's, do know many in their 80's, then there was Ollie at 102, but he's now gone. :( Strange, probably all the parents of those I graduated with would probably be in their high 80's into their 90's, I'm sure some are still around but I just don't know them.

If this weather pattern continues, you just might get to use it a lot this winter! :(

 Stopped at my one buddies house today, he didn't even realize that ML season opened yesterday! If I wouldn't have stopped by he would have probably missed the last 3 days where he can hunt with a rifle as a senior, or the entire early ML season.
