Yep that was it! How do you like yours overall? There's an 03 v8 for sale here locally with 154k. Thinking about snagging it up. If we like it enough and it tows the trailer better, I may snag as much stuff is compatible and sell the Tacoma. Over all plan being to replace the Tacoma with a half ton pickup down the road.

Nothing is too far if the price is right. Plus If you can lay eyes and hands on it before I go get it i'd fully trust your judgement.

Mine is an ‘03 that I bought with 121k have about 148k on it now. So far it has been bullet proof. Has the XREAS shocks on it and corners like a champ. I keep telling myself to leave it completely stock because it is perfect for running back and forth over togowotee all the time as is. Will probably throw a set of 31.5” duratracs on it this winter, really couldn’t be happier with it so far. Oh and it comfortably holds two kids in car seats, which was the whole reason for getting it.

I too would be interested in the exact same rig. Want to SAS it and put it on 39’s ah la Tom’s affordable bender rig, which I’ve finally gotten to checkout in person.

that thing was forsale for a while wasn't it?

I have no desire for a SAS taco. To me the LT front with dual lockers makes these truck super capable in just about every instance possible. I really like that combo. Really Love Frank but have come to very much enjoy having the rear seat area for storage. Plus ironically packing the 5' bed is actually easier and more convenient for trips. Be fun to start there a new. But if the money doesn't line up I won't do it.

Over 3k photos from this last trip. Did a lot of panos and HDRs though. Enjoyed have a tripod.

I will say, wow, it is nice to have working lenses though. Made a big difference. Looking forward to going through them all in detail.

Liking your double cab too much now? Really the only reason I sold my 1st gen, wanted more cab space.

It was, probably still is for sale for the right price. He’s looking to do a go fast build next. Benefit I see is, if you can get a prerunner cheap enough you’ll have an infinitely capable crawler, that will take a ton of abuse for a very reasonable price. SAS hadn’t really crossed my mind until I got to check his out. The clearance he got, while also keeping the center of gravity so low is awesome.

I do enjoy the cab space. Though really i just use the rear to hold the fridge and bedding mostly. But that is nice in itself.

I have plans to redo Franks interior as the whole extended cab area is still a big stereo system I have no real use for anymore. still wouldn't be as roomy with a fridge back there, Mike's is like that.

Eh, I don't have a need for that kind of travel numbers and especially don't need something that wide once you do full size axles. Long travel is wide enough as it is. But is great.

Going fast is more fun as you can do it more places and don't need a tow rig to make a fast rig that is comfy on the highway too.

Yeah, fridge access is way more convenient with it in the backseat of the double cab rather than behind the passenger seat in my 1st gen, was a pain to use. At some point I plan to have the fridge in the bed of the truck though.

Right now the dog gets the back seat until kids happen. Didn’t like the idea of throwing more money at the 1st gen just to have to sell it to comfortably fit a kids seat.

My 96 was full of speakers as well. Completely impractical haha

I've had the fridge in the bed before. Unless you have a topper or its smack in the middle of the bed under a RTT. Its not fun.

6' bed with dogs is nice though. That is something the 5' bed doesn't do well.

hmmmm... @turbodb looks like your camera shoots a different RAW format..I can't view them at all on my mac or in LR or PS. I even updated to 5.7.1 and now Adobe doesn't recognize my damn serial number :annoyed: might have just shot myself in the foot there..

    what? A bog change??

My double sleeping bag can stay in the tent if i want too..but I don't like it. Folds up a pita. Plus, this way i know by bed is always dry, especially when putting a tent away wet.

What’s not fun about it being in the bed? Most fridges are waterproof nowadays it seems, so with a fridge cover it shouldn’t be much of an issue I would think.

We’ve always kept our dogs in the truck cab with us. The kennel size we need for our dog would be a ton of bed space.

I've always wheeled with kennels. Either let them out and run with the trucks(slower rockier trails) or ride in the kennels. Im not a fan of them loose in the back with the way I drive and certainly NEVER on the highway incase of an accident.

A mud covered fridge or snow covered...not fun. that's why haha

[IMG]DeTour-85.jpg by Monte Nickles Photos, on Flickr

You can see the fridge right there, it is under a tarp still so it is technically clean...but not fun to access at all.

Unless you're springing for a GFC or just gonna use a topper. Id swap your dog and fridge placement plans haha

    oh.

    ha

    No.

No i just want a double cab. As it is now its tempting to just move the 35s, diffs, bumpers, skid, long travel over to Igor. But I don't want to ruin Igor  I like how that truck is right now. Pretty versatile.

all tents get went in sideways rain.

Hardshell has it's place. But not for me.

Igor has been great. Would like to leave as is right now.

I'd rip the rear seat out of double cab Frank and never see it again likely. Still be a two person rig. Igor can carry the little ones when it comes to that.

Good point. I guess worse case you waste water to spray it off. Hopefully I don’t have as quite of a mud flinging problem as you do either... Haha
