This might be a dumb question, but why has no one made a threaded collar for the 6112? I might be wrong, but doesn’t the Toytec ULK use a 5100 and replace the spring seat with a threaded collar? Any reason this wouldn’t work on a 6112?

One reason might be the 6112 are a lot fatter than 5100, and from the looks of it the collar gizmo adds a lot of diameter. You probably run out of clearance and can't use standard size 6112 coil springs anymore.

That was the only reason I could think of too. I guess if it was possible, someone would have done it already. It just seemed like a good idea. Sounds good, doesn’t work.

The cheapest true threaded-body 2.5" is nearly double the cost of 6112's so they had to give up something I guess. Even if this were possible I'd probably want a threaded body as opposed to add-on gizmo. I've seen these threaded collar things on various street/track cars (kits to mod MacPherson struts into "coil-overs") and they are kind of scary.
