Nice! We don’t really get fall color in TX unless there is a freak cold snap and then the oaks might turn red.

 

Top of mt Washington was all snow. I couldn’t imagine living in Texas lol.

 

Reason the retirement home is in CO.

Can I have ur house in Texas as a retirement home? I cant deal with snow when I’m older. I’m 30 now and hate the snow every winter.

 

Ah. I hate the heat. Turns out southwest CO has warm summers, and winters in the right spots aren’t too bad. You get 4 seasons and it’s a dry cold. I’m a couple hour drive from Moab and that place is absolutely awesome in the winter.

 

All I know is Chicago winters suck! and I can’t take many more of them. I’m more than positive I’ll be putting Illinois in my rear view in a few years when I retire......

Its hard to say if the tensioner maxed out against the stop then snapped due to the additional tension or if it was still in its free moving range and simply gave up the ghost.
What pulley and belt length are you running and have you relieved the tensioner stop as I have shown?

 

I’m 30. Wife with 2 boys (2 year old and a 2 month old) I’m a toyota master technician and been working with toyota for 13 years

 

There are lots of Toyotas and Toyota dealerships in warmer latitudes. Why wait for retirement...?

 

Family is all around here. And I’ve lived here my whole life. Just couldn’t imagine moving. Also have 2 horses so that would suck to move with them.

 

I get it. I was born and raised a little south of you, in RI, and did my undergrad time in upstate NY. The AF moved us around a bit, and we decided we liked CO's dry climate, so this is where we settled. Our families and many friends are still in the northeast (wife graduated from high school on Long Island). We enjoy visiting, but have no plans to move back.

Is there ever a need to pull off the pulley boys huh for service on the s/c? Had a bit of an issue happen.

When you replace seals and or bearings, yes. What happened?
When I did mine I pressed it on a bit too far and it rubbed the seal plate pretty good. I ran it in with a bolt and drill while lubricating the backside for a bit to clearance it. Its working fine to this day.

The same thing happened when we did @5thGearPinned's quickchange although not quite as much. The quick change hub rubbed slightly on the seal but I ran it with some lube, a bolt in the sc snout and a drill until it spun freely and he has had no issues either.

Note to self, sand down washer .020 to prevent this from re-occuring.

 

I used a box wrench to help as a spacer to push it on enough. Note- use a 21mm not a 19. I f**ked the end of the shaft up. It's not real bad. I can fix it with a file I guess.

 

Edit- @crashnburn80 said he thought 19 was too small. Oops. Putting belt on now.
