Dude, I totally wish I could have been there. We didn't even hunt this weekend. Jen's Grandma's funeral was pretty rough for Jen. So we just stayed home and dinked around the house.

Thanks brother... Thing that sucks is the hard part wasn't even so much her Grandma's passing, it was more about how much of a fucking a-hole her Dad is.

I just had to stay completely away from him. I didn't want to be the guy that punched him in the throat at his own mother's funeral.

Who has replaced 5vz-fe valve cover gaskets? Mine started leaking a while ago... now they are leaking pretty bad.

Getting ready to order the valve cover gaskets. Thinking I should order the spark plug tube seals as well.

How much of a pain in the ass am I looking at here?

Its not bad. Just takes time to take off the upper intake. Just go slow and label your lines.

I know your against OEM parts here..and the OEM valve cover gaskets are super over priced for what they are..but I had a very very hard time getting my aftermarket ones to stop leaking.

Also don't forget some good FIPG for the half moons. I've also always used the Toyota black FIPG as its some of the easiest stuff to apply

Lol... I'm not against OEM parts.

I'm against assholes, on here, shaming people for not always using OEM parts... for everything.

For me, engine parts and componants are always OEM. There's no reason to look for anything else.

well go for the OEM gaskets for sure there. Also can't hurt to pick up new washers for the valve cover gaskets if you wanna be baller like that.

But good call on the FIPG @Blackdawg

And I took a few minutes to check out @Timmah! video.
    https://youtu.be/N5fAXAuGozI
    Looks like I'll be getting

    Plenum gaskets
    PCV valve
    PCV valve gaskets
    Half moons
    Camshaft plugs
    Valve cover washers

While I'm in there... and since I'm going to have the T-body off, I think I'm going to get a T-body spacer. (just because)

It's probably not worth anything lol. But I'm sure someone will see it sometime and have their eye start twitching.

dont lose the little rubber washers that go on the bolts for the valve cover. without them ive seen the covers crack when tightening

I love this engine. It rides and coasts so good on the highway. I cruze 90 mph at 2500 rpms. If i beed ti pass someone on the road. Just a little down and go right by them. Best mod i have done on the truck thus far. Power for days

Literally just did this over the weekend, most time consuming part is cleaning everything and all the gasket surfaces.. Spark plugs/wires still good? Good time to change them if they are on the way out..

Just got an email from BAMF, sliders are ready!
