I hope you find a decent one, before I got the cruiser I passed up the opportunity to get a pristine one. But I didn't know I was going to AZ and at the time the cruiser was gonna be my only running vehicle and spokane winters would have been rough with RWD only

 

my gf found some neon green rims for mine. i wanted to slap her.

They're actually pretty low maintenance drivetrain wise, sometimes VVTi actuators need service and of course emissions shit does from time to time but its mostly visual and interior crap like seat motors.

 

leaks. suspension noises. nothing too major. the TB is the most common thing i have them come in for. suspension shit can get expensive too if the control arms are bad.

 

I cannot say ive ever seen a VVTI actuator failure on a belt driven toyota engine. only the 2005-2007 2gr and the 2AR motors.

 

its probably in good shape. you guys dont get the harsh conditions we do. the suspension bushings and shit on them take a beating in the winters here

not a belt driven engine. same style actuator as the 2gr. but ive honestly never had a 1gr fail since ive been at toyota. The 2gr ones that fail involve removing the engine. replacing the exhaust cam shafts and all 4 actuators

 

That's smart, only reason I bought the particular Z I did is because the body and interior were on point and I hat doing work to either of those.

 

Got the bellhousing loose, I'll jack the thing up and set it on blocks so I can get under with the trans jack tomorrow

 

I plumbed my whole home theatre system with a TOSLINK switch. Not worth the trouble IMO. Audio over HDMI is inherently better. I ripped the TOSLINK switch out.

But if you’re wiring up gaming systems that don’t have HDMI, TOSLINK is handy. I wired all sixteen of my gaming consoles to two Radio Shack automatic component switchers, and an HDMI switcher.

im talking about for my old consoles without HDMI if i had a component and toslink capable switch i could condense them into one input on my receiver
