1080p is rare in a tablet unless apple

 

I've never used an Onkyo, but I've had a few Denons and a Harmon Kardon

 

Tablet for what, media and recreation, or productivity?

I hear good things about the Surface tablets.

 

i like my old onkyo. its been running strong since 04 when my dad bought it new im really likely the denon. getting everything setup to do 11.2.4 Atmos

 

I'm happy with my 7.1 setup, really more of a 7.8 but I guess they're only getting a single LFE signal. Bass shakers in all the chairs and two huge subs and a smaller one, all EQd so that the bass spectrum is appropriate

 

Mostly movies and books.

 

Honestly? I would say go for a used iPad or new if you can swing that. Apple is a great ecosystem for media streaming and things like reading.

For anything else, go for a Surface Book.

 

no easy sideloading, limited playback formats, horrible battery life, OS that will make it unusable in a year or so

hard pass ipad can eat a dirty dick

 

Agreed plus need iTunes just for the thing

 

i use iphones.. but only because deep discount on them... i personally cant stand IOS anymore

 

do you really need the res? 720p is usually fine to my eyes for mobile entertainment.

 

I think it is funny he cant find an FHD tablet but my last two phones have been 4K

 

nice. i plan on doing at least one sub. probably going to build a box for a dayton 18" it wont be for my music. just movies and games. as for ceiling speakers i scored a deal on some klipsch 6.5" in ceilings that'll be playing atmos duty. just need to find some good speakers for surround duty. goal is to have them against the wall aiming to the ceiling.. thats the best sound ive ever gotten from side surrounds.

Why do you need 4k on a phone lol mines 2560x1440p and it's good enough. I can find some fhd just more than I'm willing to spend or bad reviews

 

just carry you pc arround with a few car batteries and a 1080p monitor. problem solved.

 

cause why not, my phone is covered through my work, get the nicest and newest each year

 

A 60 pound computer that's about the size of my torso. Not really portable lol.

Well if all you’re doing is watching Hulu or Netflix or reading books the iPad is perfect.

Anything more than that, Android or Windows wins this battle.
