Mine just lost the scissors and blamed it on me....

....I mean I have a tool box with tools that make it back every day. What's so magical about scissors where I couldn't do the same thing????

    Amahrightttt?

    Yep, that is my rep.
I spoke with him Thursday and he did say he believes they will have a that machine at sema, they will not have the machine I have been using. The machine I have been running for the last 9 months is a 255. He said it will be released this month on the east coast but not till January for the west. I also got the news that they will be giving a new machine for all the feedback so pretty excited about that. I asked about letting another shop try it out and he said as long as they don't take any pics it's fine.

That's some good info! I'd definitely love to try it out, kind of a bummer the west coast is getting a late release on the new bigger machine, maybe us west coasters can order from east coast online places. LOL

My Hobart welding helmet sucks. The headband keeps slipping off my head.
Even worse when I'm underneath my truck, laying sideways.
Is there a hack that will keep this damn thing on my head?

Adjust the top band of the head gear to let it sit lower on your head, should give the head gear more grip around the middle of your head. Other than that the trick to keeping a helmet on when laying sideways comes down to balance. Many helmets carry all their weight at the front lens, or have the head gear pivot too far off center leading to increased leverage on the band and the helmet slipping, no matter how tight you get it. If you can't get yours to stay satisfactorily and start looking at replacements take a good look at the head gear style, pivot points, and the weight of the helmet. Lighter and smaller is better for out of position tight quarters welding. My Optrel E680 is my go to for working under a truck as it is my lightest and closest fitting helmet, followed by my Esab Sentinel hood, and lastly my Miller Infinity hood is completely worthless for working under a truck. Too big and heavy.

    This ^^^

The internal band just won’t hold onto to my damn head.

I’ll probably need to walk into a welding shop to try on various helmets.

    Thanks!

This is a welding thread, METAL staples and METAL plate. Weld the staples to the plate?

Holy cow. I'm barely able to weld mild steel. Now you want me to step it up and weld titanium :benchpress:

I've never had good luck with the hood staying on my gourd. I've never did the "head nod" thing to lower it. always lower it by hand. I understand this is a good thing, since minute fractures can occur in the the neck vertebrata from this habit.

A snug fitting welding beany really helps me keep the thing on during uses in odd situations.
