Wow! That is a shame, was always a cool stop. We typically stage out of Kramer and stop by the prison on the way back. What could they possibly be planning on building way out there? I always use the controller "Dome" to navigate to on our way back towards Kramer.

I do a goofy car rally every year and back in 2015 the prison was one of the stops. A surprising number of people were living at the prison (think of Slab City) back then and visiting the place was definitely an experience at 4-5am when the sun was rising.

Yes, it was a hazardous spot to be exploring. Liability may have been a driving force behind the leveling. Lots of wood rot, graffiti, collapsing floors, collapsing ceilings, nails, glass and dark spaces. It was very easy to get a nail through your boots or fall through the floors walking around inside the buildings. Plenty of chances to ruin your weekend around there....

Also dont forget the chance of getting stabbed by a hobo or stepping on a needle.

Still it was a cool place to explore.

So, just added 255/85/16 on SCS F5's and ended up with quite a bit off rubbing. Talked to Jason (glorifedwelder) about a cmc and he didn't have anything open until early next month. In talking with him he mentioned that I should be running around 4 degrees of caster and to have a better alignment done. Since then I ran into a buddy of mine that welds for a living and had him do the cmc for me with the bamf plates and it turned out nice. Did some trimming of the fenders and removed the mud flaps, so no rubbing with just normal driving. But it is very close to rubbing, so I am assuming fully stuffed with the wheel turned, I'm most likely going to rub.

So, on to a better alignment. I live in Cayucos and have talked to a few guys around Morro Bay and SLO, and it seems that nobody has found anyone that is willing to do a alignment with SPC ucas. In this thread I read that Paul at Superior in SB was the guy to go to for that. I have an appointment with him on Friday morning and want to get this sorted out, since it is a 4 hour round trip for me. Issue I'm having now is knowing what specs I should be looking for. There are a lot of opinions here on TW and I guess I just don't know what to go with. Anybody here want to weigh in or should I just leave this up to Paul? Those of you who have taken your trucks to Paul, did you ask him for certain specs? Any help would be appreciated.

Like you said, there are going to be a lot of opinions on what is "best" so I'll just throw out there what I did. I actually told Paul to get as close to 4 on the caster as possible while still keeping everything else within stock limits. No complaints here and have had great tread wear so far.

Sounds good, pretty confident now that I can drive away from there with what I've been trying to get. I appreciate you both answering.

Just to add to the responses, I went to superior this morning and got an alignment after I installed new LCAs, JBA UCAs and icons. I asked for 3 degrees caster and everything else stock. He got everything spot on and I was on my way in about 90 minutes. I will definitely go back for any work.

Thanks for the referal @inv3ctiv3 !

Anybody need some floor mats or a swaybar off a 2012? Floor mats were basically never used and sway bar has ~10K on it. I'll take a few beers as payment. :D

Any track riders out there? An old roommate of mine left his track suit at my house after he moved out. a few beers for this as well.

What kind of beer would you like Chris?
I could swing by this afternoon around 1:30 or tomorrow...if either of those times work for you...

I thought we already talked about these and found that the 2012+ with the new attachment points won't fit in your truck? Or do you need the sway bar?

You are more than welcome to bring beer over anytime you want though. :D

Forgive my cloudy memory....I don’t recall us figuring that out. Well, if you’re sure it won’t fit than I trust your judgement. I am getting old :p

Yeah, we should have a beer sometime soon though. I’m always pressed for a moment to myself these days....Family life & work takes pretty much all the time I have. Having said that, it looks like there are some lines coming though at Campus...get in the water if you can!
    It’s so nice out

Had Paul at Superior in SB do my alignment today. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Thanks to all who recommended him.
