Please post pics if you have one. I was looking at CBI's but there aren't many pictures. Anything with a tube or plate that goes around the side qualifies.

Did you do that swingout yourself? I didn't think NWTI had a swingout...

I'd be interested to know where you got the parts (latch/hinge) from...

Relentless Fab makes a sweet wrap around rear bumper. Even goes under the rear quarter panel for more protection. On my list of future to do's.

I’m looking into that bumper but it’s strangely not rated for towing like most of the other bumpers are for our trucks.

This just arrived today. looks much better in person.
Hopefully I will have it done by next weekend. Im pulling the bed off, replacing springs, shocks, removing last of the rust, undercoating the bed, boxing the frame and then installing the new bumper.

For liability's sake on our part- never know what a guy is going to throw on the back of their truck.
The bumper is built stronger than the frame it's attached to and attaches to the same location as the factory tow hitch.

I've always wondered why aftermarket bumpers are even legal for the liability reasons you just said. Large manufacturers/distributors such as U-Haul sell hitches rated and tested to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) standard classes. Small shops could never afford that kind of testing and quality control. Not to say small shops (or home fabricators) don't build strong hitches, but there's no guarantee.

Also, not to give anybody any ideas, but in a crash I'm sure somebody would have a valid claim against any of us with huge steel bumpers that we removed critical safety devices(crumple zones), thus worsening the impact forces.

The crumple zone is built into the frame. It is not part of the bumper or it’s brackets.

The demello is what I want, but unfortunately Jason doesn't make them anymore :( It's a great looking, functional bumper... maybe if we can get a group buy started he may make a batch?

ARB is “airbag certified” or whatever it’s called because in Australia they have to be to be used on public roads.
