Ace of Spades and shotty seems to be the Meta in crucible right now. I rarely run Ace of Spades since I’m working on the claymore quest right now. I’ve got a god roll Bygones so it three taps from across the map. But when I do use a Hand Cannon I use the Trust. I don’t think there is a smoother Hand Cannon in the game. I don’t have Luna’s Howl yet so I can’t compare them but I don’t have any trouble going up against someone using Luna’s Howl unless they catch me off guard.

One thing I really like is you can pretty much use whatever you want within reason and still compete. Crucible hasn’t been in a better place in a very long time.

Oh and you’re right... the Two Tail Fox has no PvE value that I can find. It’s still the EP shotgun, Sleeper, or Whisper in the raid or pretty much anything PvE

Anytime I see any quest with crucible in it I can count on it sitting and collecting dust. Would be nice if there was a means for the quests to either have the option to PVP or just finish out some long winded PVE crap for them.

Crucible/Gambit is just not an enjoyable game mode for me.

I played PvP for about 5 hours with a team today. Reset rank once and I'm almost to reset again.

I personally disagree with being able to get weapon / armor piece just by playing one sort of game mode. Things like Luna's Howl / Claymore / Broadsword should not be given out. They must be earned by playing PvP and that is fine with me. I'm getting close to the Claymore / Broadsword but I don't mind grinding for it. I understand that PvP isn't for everyone. But that said... don't expect the items to be earned any other way. Same thing goes for the raid. Not everyone likes to raid so to those that don't... don't expect to get those rewards.
The more you play the better you'll get at it and learn to read what your opponents plans / intentions / and next move is. That's the part I love. IB starts tomorrow and 2x's rank for the rest of the week along with 3x's rank this weekend. If everything goes according to plan I'll have the Broadsword by this weekend.

Gambit is one of the best parts of this expansion IMO. We have a great strat and very rarely lose with that strat. Just don't ever cue up solo. It's an exercise in frustration.

And I think that’s where we’ll always disagree. The level of effort that goes into a specific game mode to get through a quest is obnoxious. I’m glad as hell they made it where hand cannon kills in gambit counted towards the Ace quest and not just guardian kills. As a casual gamer, don’t have time to burn through 50 final blows in each subclass, then another shit ton of matches and reset your rank 5x in a mode that is absolutely unenjoyable to me.

Fuck that shit! That’s why those quests usually sit around collecting dust or, get done at a snails pace cause I generally forget they are there.

Maybe, if I turn in the 10k baryon boughs I have from doing landscaping duty for the Awoken in the dreaming city to complete a section of the quest it would make it worth it.

You got admit though it is nice to have to seek to earn stuff again instead of just getting everything due to inevitability like it was in the beginning of d2. Partly why everyone beat it and moved on so quick...me included. At the same time, I get the gripe for crap being outside the scope of folks who don’t have much time to play.

I don’t mind going out and seeking things, just maybe another option. I’d rather punch 1000 enemies in the face under each subclass in strikes with non clan mates than suffer through one crucible match

Certain items being locked behind certain activities is what makes this game good now. D2 sucked balls during year one because everyone could get pretty much everything without even trying. If I went flawless in Trials then my clanmates shouldn't be able to reap the rewards for "my" effort. "I'm" the one that was willing to go in and do what needed to be done. Once it was done then everyone in the clan got a Trials weapon??? Fuck that. It shouldn't have been that way EVER. And that goes vice versa. If I don't do Trials or the raid then "I" shouldn't have been able to reap the rewards if others in the clan do them. That damn near killed off D2. Making the game way too casual friendly with absolutely nothing to chase after.

As I've mentioned before, I come from a long line of MMO's and if you wanted the best items in the game you had to actually complete those activities. There was no other way of gaining access to those items without doing the hard stuff. I look at D2 in much the same way now that Forsaken has come out. If someone wants the endgame items whether it be PvE related or PvP related you must do them yourself. I've built a clan from the ground up where we all have the same goals in mind and we have fun doing those things that only the hardcore player wants to do.

I completely understand if someone doesn't like PvP. I get it... I really do. When I first stepped foot in to PvP in D1 I got my ass handed to me for a while. But I decided I was going to get good so that's what I did. So now I have something pretty exclusive to chase after that most aren't willing to do. And I will get it done no doubt about it. But, that weapon is locked behind that activity and should (and will) remain so. 90+% of the people aren't going to get the Luna's Howl or the Broadsword because it is a grind and if you don't like PvP then it will remain out of reach for those that choose not to go for it. It just means that "I" was willing to put in the time and effort to go after something that most won't even try for. The quest is long and there are a lot steps to it. You have to be good at PvP and willing to grind for it. They don't just give it out like candy. And that... I really like. But I'll tell you who I really respect in the game. Those that got the Claymore when it was during season 3 and PvP was probably in the worst place it's ever been in Destiny's history. I didn't even try then. But I also didn't upset because it was locked behind something that I was unwilling to do. Now PvP is in one of the best places in Destiny's history and I certainly don't mind grinding for it.

I've said it before... There is a place for casual players to enjoy the game and there is a place for hardcore players to enjoy the game. But if someone isn't willing to put forth the effort to do the hard things then I'm sorry... they will be locked out of those items. I've no qualms with that.

This is just a snapshot of just some of the games we played today. As you move up in ELO it gets much more sweaty. But it also gets more fun.

Oh... and I finally got my first 7th column medal today. They just happened to be lined up perfectly and I mowed through them with Arcstrider and Raiden Flux. I was pretty happy about that since there is a lot of luck involved with getting that done.

I've learned a lot from this guy. I like his playstyle and I've adopted a lot of his strategies. So a little bit of homework and practice has made me a better all around player.

Pretty good video covering the Claymore / Broadsword. So yeah... it's worth the grind to me.

I love the game in it's current state. As far as crucible, I'm not a big fan but still try and once in a while have a good game. My only gripe is the amount of clan bounties that always end up tied to crucible vs other activities. They seem to push it above all else.

I think they should offer some goodies that are focused on each mode, so those that don't like PvP that much aren't forced into doing it endlessly -- they can just shoot for the PvE rewards. Being more of a casual player, I don't expect them to just randomly give me something really cool that others had to work hard for, but grinding out a PvE reward over time would be fine. Doing a little PvP here and there isn't terrible, but some of us prefer the adventure and story aspect of the game more. And, some would just rather play PvP.

That's the thing about this game. I like both PvE and PvP. And there are items locked behind each mode. PvE has arguably one of the better pulse rifles in the game (depending on the roll) from the raid. I don't have it yet but I've got friends that do and they love it. I've got a god roll Bygones and a god roll Trust from Gambit. I've already reset my rank twice in Gambit but I know people that have reset it over five times.

Gambit is a perfect combination of PvE / PvP just don't solo queue into it unless you want to lose. IMO, it's one of the better game modes that Destiny has ever come up with. Sleeper nerf in Gambit is coming today but it won't stop people (including me) from using it. It just lowers the amount of ammo that you can get for it from the heavy ammo box from what I understand? That doesn't affect how I play the game at all. I'll still invade and kill 2 with the sleeper then close the gap on the other 2 in the hopes I can get a team wipe. But my first target is always whoever is carrying the most motes. My tip... never pick up the bounty that wants you to bank a certain amount of small, medium, and large blockers. Always try to bank around 5 motes each and you can have your portal up quick to go to the other side and kill those that are hoarding their motes.

I've got all the armor with the exception of the cloak from the raid and all the weapons. Some of the weapons are the curated rolls from Bungie that are already masterworked which is pretty cool. Some are not. I want the curated Hand Cannon since it is the Fatebringer 2.0 but I haven't gotten it yet. Yet... is the operative word there. I'll get it eventually. But those items are locked behind a PvE activity.
So here's the thing. I figure next someone will say that "the raid is too hard" or "I can't get a team together". Well... yes you can. All it takes is a little bit of effort and it can be done if you truly want to do that activity. Just don't expect those weapons to be handed out if someone isn't willing to run the raid.

I get why some people don't like PvP. If that isn't your thing you shouldn't be expected to play those activities if you don't want too. And a valid argument could be made for clan bounties that are tied to PvP activities. The thing is... those bounties change everyday so you can skip the PvP bounties if you like. Luckily I enjoy PvP so I'll do them everyday by accident just from playing PvP with clanmates.

The biggest change that has helped me with PvP is I never get tilted anymore. I used to get pissed when someone was lagging or I was just sucking that day. It happens... Some days I'm on point and I'll go up against anyone and other days I'll just suck and I can't get anything to work in my favor because I'm sucking it up so bad. But I don't get tilted either way anymore. If I start sucking too bad I'll take a break and come back later.
I went up against someone playing a WL yesterday and they just plain outplayed me almost every time I went up against them. I think he killed me 5 or 6 times and I only killed him once. That used to piss me off but now I just look at it as "how is he outplaying me each time???" and try to learn from what he is doing so I might be able to counter it in the future. So changing my perspective on how I view and play PvP has made me a much better player.

But the thing that I really like about this... We are no longer talking about how Destiny 2 sucks and the conversation has changed to what game mode we like about the game and what we don't. Forsaken, IMO, is the best expansion that Destiny has ever put out.

Bungie curated rolls from the raid.

Raid Scout Rifle with outlaw and kill clip masterworked with reload speed. Luckily Scout Rifles are getting a buff today so hopefully I can finally use it.

Raid Auto Rifle with Fourth Time's a Charm and Rampage masterworked for range. (Doubt I'll ever use this since I'm not an auto rifle person)

And the Raid Hand Cannon. Not a curated roll but still pretty good with Outlaw and Kill Clip

I have a Nation of Beasts, not sure about it yet, forget what roll I got. I think I briefly equipped it and played with a bit, just hard to put away the Ace of Spades. Also got a Techeun Force, but I suck with fusion rifles. My parents have been in town, haven't turned on the PS4 in a while.

Honestly... I haven't even equipped the Nation of Beasts. It is a good roll and it's a 140 archetype which is the same as the Ace of Spades. I really like the Ace of Spades but I rarely use it. I much prefer my Trust since it has no recoil and it's a 180 archetype and hits almost as hard as the Ace of Spades. Plus it doesn't take up an exotic slot. So the TTK is the same if not lower but it has no recoil. What the Ace of Spades has going for it is Memento Mori which allows for Radar while aiming down sights and 6 extra damage bullets that you can carry across the map if you like to two tap someone. If I see someone using the Ace of Spades I just assume that Memento Mori is active and engage accordingly. It seems that between hand cannons it is pretty equal between Ace of Spades and Trust in PvP.

I got that same infusion rifle from the raid 3 times now. It sucks.
