Custom LED Map and Dome lights

saw 3rd gen was available, but no red left :-(

 

Any info when or if 3rd gen dual color maps will be available @mesojdm?

 

Dang I must have missed out on the domes and maps once again.

 

Question for y'all.
I see a lot of people running red interior lights.
Is this for cosmetic reasons or is there a benefit to using red?

 

Red light does not impair night vision.

 

exactly. More importantly when you transition from dark surroundings to a super bright white light( or vise versa) it is much easier on your night vision.

 

I currently have red maps and dome but curious to see if you still have dual 3rd gen maps in the works? I know you’re a very busy man so I’ll be patiently waiting if they’re in the works.

@mesojdm - So from a practical standpoint, if the map lights are used when driving, go red, but if the dome light is only used when parked/camped, may as well go white?

 

Is there a more efficient way to tell when these are in stock other than refreshing the website every hour?

@mesojdm , on older vehicles the dome had contact power and the door switches completed to ground circuit. Is this still the case with the taco? Have a dome light that wont fo out unless switched to off. No door open indicators while driving so probably not door switches. Thanks

 

The dome door circuit is negative switching on the Taco. Have you checked the toggle switch on front overhead console?

 

Not my vehicle. Trying to help someone out that's not here. Also blowing ecuacc and backup fuses instantly when you turn on truck. Btw, sent you PM the other day about fuse cover you might want to read?

 

When in doubt, undo battery and unhook dome. Leave unhooked for a few minutes to drain all residue power. Reconnect and test again. Does this person have rock lights tied to the dome circuit as well?

Yep, then you know who it is. They did however disconnect the rock light from it with no luck. The ecuacc and backup fuses are the big problem. No reverse lights or stereo.
