Heh, heh, heh.... Exactly what pushed me the A/T route. I had found a sweet deal on a M/T at the time too....
Awww Hunny, then I won't be able to drive it... What if.... blah, blah, blah

Amazing the compromises we make and go against our instincts! C'est la vie say the old folks !

I forgot he wanted people with 93 gas and all I have access to is 91.

I'm excited based on the limited feedback so far.

Whoa... wait a sec. Am I reading this right? Does this say that we might get 1.05 today if we have an AT?

Honestly, this has been an issue on prior Toyota calibrations and to a much lesser extent 1.04 and prior. Nearly fixed in B04 (latest TSB) and 5th pulls better with the lock-up controls in the test of 1.05 I've done. I don't have those same issues overshooting like I used to

I think he meant the new test map will be ready today.

You should ask him for a 91 map.

Well, thank you for crushing my spirit... Although, he was pushing maps out last night immediately following that post to be tested, which says to me that he was doing last minute testing of a final map he wanted to release today. Wishful thinking?

i have just one question about the test file for 1.05 MT...
is it noticeably different from 1.04R on the TSB? any chance you'll answer this one?

my truck is still dead so I'm still on the sidelines.

Ladies, Can anyone please point me to the AT 1.04R files please? (ECU 04B04). Maybe @OVTune emails them directly?

Ya, I just don't want to be pushing him into allowing me to have the file ;)j/k man, just messing around.

In all seriousness though, my trcuk does not like 1.04r 91 file ( yes I have 91 gas in the tank) very much. I experienced more hesitation in 5th and 6th gear the other day with moderate throttle and with a slight hill. Seems when it gets into load in a higher gear it does not like to transition very well. As mentioned, I never felt that on the 87 file or after the TSB update.

So I've done about 60 miles so far on 1.04R 91 and to be honest, I was better off with the latest TSB from Toyota. 1.04R has more power at 50% or more throttle but it's not needed all that often and that's the only plus side of it. Previously on the TSB the gears would hold much better before that awkward downshift. I'm hoping 1.05 93 solves all these issues. The truck doesn't want to pull any of gears at low rpm's without downshifting and it will shift into 5th and 6th gears at very low speeds before it should leading to a lot of unpredictability on how fast or slow the truck will accelerate...

Honestly, it felt better, even the TSB update was really good. Not sure why the 91 file was giving me fits. I have run 91 files before and they have been great.

I’ve always run the 87 tune but frequently run 91 fuel. With how picky these trucks can be about fuel (even from the factory) that might be why my is generally happy. Who knows, these trucks are crazy.
