wanted/needed a truck and didn't want to go full-size and there was nothing in the mid-size class that compares with the tacoma.

I've wanted a Tacoma since I was in middle school. I have a Frontier now, but in the market for a 18 TRD OR. Tacos are reliable, easy on the eyes..It's a win-win for me

My 1998 T100 is getting long in the tooth, although it only has 145,000 miles on it. The Tundra is too big, and I didn't see any comparable trucks. My granddaughter wants me to hang on to the T100 for two years so she can drive it when she gets her license.

What I drove for 17 years, I love this truck.

My 2000 T4R finally gave out after 17 years. A sad day that turned into a happy day. New Taco!

Well, that comes handy in order to get the next Tacoma
What I got for my 09 let me built enough equity on my 16 that I was able to get my 18 even on my payments ....

I had been planning on getting a Tacoma all year. Initially I was going to wait until Nov / Dec but the transmission on my '06 Pilot was showing signs of failure so I upped the timeline slightly. Always intended on getting a a mid-sized truck as my wife and I needed it more than an SUV.

    1) Rust/constant repairs and maintenance on my 1st gen.
    2) Manual transmission.
    3) Versatility.

Don't own one yet, family wants me to get a Wrangler, but for what I want, Taco offers and does almost everything through Jeep does, but better.

Besides that, test drove both JL and Taco with Sticks and found the Taco much easier and smoother. Only issue I have is getting use to the brakes, that's solely it

A few questions, since you don’t have a Tacoma yet, and you may end up with one. What draws you to a Tacoma? What family wants you to get a wrangler (kids? Or parents?)

    All good

Been thinking of getting a practical daily that doesn't need much work (Not that my Audi's unreliable, it's solid, but with hpfp/lpfp and the loud catback, want something a bit smoother and doesn't run out of fuel at 1/4 tank, Mustangs solid, but long story short, reached the limit and it's also auto)

Wanna offroad, and that's before my gf and I followed my friends to a Bonfire (I didn't realize how far it was, surprised her golf didn't get stuck at all)

Want manual and besides a Frontier and Wrangler, can't get a 4x4 that offers you everything

Family as in parents, sister's, cousin, my gf and friends. They're mostly not car folks (sister's and mom), and they don't know anything about Taco's.

Tbh, up until a few years ago, didn't know anything about it myself, it was more I got one of those test drive for $50 deals and the only stick was a 2nd gen, then I drove a 3rd gen and other than having to get use to the rear drums, felt like driving my Audi if it were lifted (clutch wise)

Finally, kinda not into the bells and whistles anymore, hate sunroofs, so I could get an OR, then with what's saved over the premium, could do lots of stuff (exhaust, Cai, short shifters, custom leather seats, wheels, lift, etc.)

Plus I wanna do more road trips in the future and want something that if something goes wrong, don't have to worry if a dealer has to do work on it, plus as I joke, it'll out last me if I plan on keeping it

That's just what comes to mind, hope that answers a few things.

Side note, I'm the guy who test drives everything, though even before it turned out the airbags deployed when mildly off-roading, never was interested in the Government twins

    The color.

Seriously, if they didn't offer Inferno as a color option I'd probably still be in my 2nd gen. I just fucking love orange vehicles this is my 3rd one. I still turn around and look at her everytime I park

Same here. Couldn't find and SR5 4x4 in Inferno, I really miss that color, and for 2019 no more Inferno Tacomas.
