    was at big bend a few weeks ago and that was ok, and usually like to go to Colorado to run trails but is there anything good in the Central Texas area that y'all can recommend? I'm looking for overnight camping with nice views for my wife and I. Off-road is a plus

    You can check out ft hood, you'll have to get a range pass from range control or the provost marshell cant recall which. They'll give you a map of where you can/cant go an have at it. There is some pretty decent trails an random ponds out there also by belton lake maybe a option also. Also i believe hidden falls has primitive camping, as well as being a recreational ohv park.
