It never hurts. You can at least get to a semi normal felling going opposite handed, as well as figure out eye dominance with regard to the gun in a different hand and train opposite hand trigger control. At the end of all that nothing shows progress good or bad like some live fire.

If you go that route, throw in a snap cap and failure drill in your off hand as well. I broke enough fingers in my dominant hand growing up to have learned decent control in my off hand, but racking/clearing was the biggest hurdle especially since I do not have ambi carry guns. I am comfortable transistioning hand to hand now, but it did not start off easy.

Anyone here own or fired the Taurus G2C in 9mm? I'm really interested in picking one up. I don't have a 9mm, and I like the way it fits, and it feels compact enough for an IWB holster. Price seems really good too. I've never owned a Taurus, and I've seen some review videos that talks about the very long trigger pull.

Oh there will be some mods all right
I considered a Taurus until the first time I pulled the trigger. It felt like bag full of gravel. I don't know if all Taurus are like that or not, but I wasn't impressed.

I've only heard positive things about the G2C and generally very negative things about the brand as a whole. I'd look at any of the other 9mm handguns out there. The Springfield XD series comes with 3 extra mags right now.

I have a TCP (.380) and its a pile of shit. Poorly cut feed ramp leading round to jam while feeding. Its a fairly well documented issue with the TCP, yet Taurus wants me to cover the shipping to send it back for repairs.

Thanks. I've heard good thing about the G2C, and usually really good things about Taurus, but realize opinions vary. Yes, I looked at the Springfield XDS 9mm, and I have the Springfield XDm 40 which I love to shoot. However, the XDS is about twice the price, and I didn't like the feel of it.

I understand price shouldn't drive gun ownership, and buy once-cry once mentality. It may be one of those where I have buy it and try it situations.

Also consider the shield or g43 if you're looking at small 9mm

Both are solid choices. I've seen the Shield as low as $280 but is hovering around $320 now, the Glock will never go that low. If you can wait it out till black friday the Shield should get back down below $300.

Having shot both the Shield and owning a g43 I'd recommend you go with the Shield.

Another budget single stack 9mm to consider is the Walther PPS M2, I shot a buddies a while back and it is a nice little gun for ~$300 and below on sale. I have been a big fan of my PPQ since I bought it years ago as it has the best of out the box trigger I have ever shot, The PPS wasn't quite on the same level but not bad by any means. I've been debating just buying one myself or continuing to wait for Sig to figure out their quality issues on the P365.

That's not very many rounds! I assume the target is a standard silhouette?

That's the biggest thing I've run into when shooting non-dominant handed, figuring out which eye to use, with a Rifle it's an easy choice.

That's a good idea, I'll throw those in.

This^^ Shot both the Shield and the G43 and I shoot the shield better, however I think the G43 would be slightly easier to conceal.

I have one of them there SIG P365s...
mine is my primary EDC at the moment, but not for long. I got mine in March and have had no problems with it, but Sig has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I thought the P320 was alright, but wasn't a fan of the way SIG handled their drop issues (However un-likely, there's still a chance, and they knew the issue from MIL testing). Now with the 365 leaving the end user to be the testers of the product... I know everyone has to have a release point and then release updates, but it seems SIG is a little out of balance currently. I like carrying the 365, but I'm thinking of going back to a HK P30sk for daily life. It may be bigger, but at least it's bug free...

There are joys and even a few drawbacks over not having a dominate eye. I can swap hands without issue, and as you say with rifle, my eyes lock right in, but with pistol if I haven't practiced semi recently both eye try to take over. When current I can go to either hand with either eye and be fine. Biggest assist to eye dominance for me is using some form of contrasting sights; My PPQ has a red FO over black rear, my P30 has orange over black HD XRs. I really like any of the current gen contrasting sights, the almost feel like a faux red dot sight.

Yeah, I'm worried I may be hanging on to a dream that the P365 will someday live up to it's potential. I agree on the bad taste, SIG's recent business practices make them a company I would rather not give my money to but it's hard to not be tempted by a gun with the size and capacity of the P365... if it had proven reliability.

I'm hopeful for some new options being shown at shot show. I think the P365 really showed there was demand for that type of firearm. Sig failed with it so I'm sure someone else will make their version.

Anybody know of a good place to find some 300 Savage ammo? Pretty expensive stuff now.

Hornady would be good. Not sure of the weight. I don't think I have a lot of options.
